You’re Never Too Old, Too Wacky, Too Wild
to Pick Up a Book and Read With a Child!

March 2 is National Read Across America day, and it’s also Dr. Seuss’s 96th birthday. Children, grown-ups, young and old are planning events both big and bold. Bascomb Elementary School will be celebrating all day. Teachers will be wearing Cat in the Hat hats and students will all receive a sticker to wear.

Donald Kyle is the Children’s Editor for The TowneLaker. He is in the first grade at Bascomb Elementary. Donald is also the son of Gina Carr Kyle and Don Kyle.
At a loss for a good book? The National Education Association conducted an on-line survey of teachers to find the “Teacher’s Top 100 Book List.” Here are the top 50: Visit www.nea.org/readacross for more information.
