Bascomb Hosts Open House for Rising Kindergarteners

Incoming five-year-old Bascomb Elementary School kindergarten students and their parents are invited to attend an open house on Friday, March 16. Parents and students will have the opportunity to tour the Bascomb facilities and meet some of the teachers from 9 until 10 a.m. There will be a parent orientation from 10 until 11 a.m., at which time the five-year-olds will be engaged in various activities. Calling All Kids — Is your Mom the Greatest?

What can you do for Mother’s Day that is extra special? Enter her in The TowneLaker magazine Mother of the Year Contest. All you have to do is write an essay answering a few basic questions about why your Mom is the best Mom ever.

The winning essay will be published in the May issue of The TowneLaker magazine and the winning mother will be featured on the cover. All nominees will receive an honorable mention.

Deadline for nominations is Friday, April 6, at 5 p.m. All entries should be for a mother who lives in the Towne Lake area. Essays must be accompanied by the writer’s full name and age, the nominee’s name, a contact phone number and address. Essays will be returned if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is provided.
