Auditions
Auditions for the Cherokee Little Theatre Players annual murder-mystery show will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at the Arts Center in Canton. No experience is necessary. Come as you are, there is no need for a prepared monologue. For more information, call (770) 704-9909.
Dining for Pets
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is looking for people to sign up as hosts and hostesses for the 2nd annual Dining for Pets. Volunteers will be asked to plan an event in May for friends, neighbors and animal lovers. Event suggestions -- Dessert Extravaganza, Backyard Barbeque, Candlelight Dinner, etc. Guests will be asked to make a tax deductible contribution to benefit the animals. Earth Day and Recycle Festival
Keep Cherokee Beautiful (KCB) is looking for volunteers to help with its annual Earth Day and Recycle Festival which takes place on Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Woodstock City Park. KCB is looking for crafters who use recycled or reused materials in their crafts or wares as well as community or business sponsors. Parent's Survival Nights
Cherokee Recreation and Parks Authority Activities Center would like to take your kids off your hands while you enjoy a night out. Parent's Survival Night is every Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. beginning April 13. Activities will include movies, games, etc. Parents will be required to check their child or children in and out. Pet Adoptions
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is open for adoptions every Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Shelter also holds off-site pet adoptions on the third Saturday of the month at the Haynes Pet Center in Towne Lake from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and every Sunday at PetsMart in Kennesaw from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., weather permitting. Senior Center Picnic
The William G. Long Senior Center is hosting a picnic on Sunday April 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Woodstock City Park. Entertainment will be provided by the Sock Hops. Come and enjoy an afternoon full of fun. There will be food, dance contests, hula hoop contests, cake walks and many door prizes. This event is for Seniors only. Shed Your Hang-Ups
The Cherokee County Battered Women's Group and Towne Lake Fitness is launching their first annual clothes drive. Members and non-members are invited to bring unwanted clothing to Towne Lake Fitness. Special Olympics Volunteer Meeting
The Cherokee County Special Olympics Committee is looking for dependable, dedicated and loving people to volunteer, coach, chaperone or help with coordinating events. The Committee will host a Volunteer meeting at CrossRoads Middle and High School in Holly Springs on April 2. The Cherokee County Special Olympics program is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for all children and adults with mental retardation.
