Bascomb Elementary School's Odyssey of the Mind (OM) program recently soared to new heights with two second place and one third place award at the OM Regional Tournament.  Bascomb's  six teams participating in

this creative problem solving program presented imaginative skits and did some on-the-spot thinking in the "Spontaneous" competition.

The second place teams will advance to the State OM Tournament later this month.  This will be the first time that Bascomb has sent its OM teams to State. 

Members of the second place "Idiom Inspiration" team, coached by Kelly Vettraino and Stephanie Notarthomas, are Heather Vettraino, Brenden Gagain, Erin Notarthomas, Meghan Vettraino, Lauren Coleman and Richard Stargel.  Members of the second place "Ody-see-ing Sounds" team, coached by Marty Madson and Joan Mueller, are Samantha Blinn, Nicole Kendrick, Devon Mueller, Brittany Anderson, Chris Madson, Madeline Rideout and Kevin Rabb.  Members of the third place "Wild Winged Wonders" team, coached by Cindy and Scott McNeill, are Daniel McNeill, J.J. Posway, Alex Adamczyk, Alex Clift, Natalie Rutledge and Mallory Rutledge.
