The TowneLaker Magazine announces the 2001 Mother of the Year, Paula Parks.  Paula was nominated by her son, Tyler, age 7, whose essay (below right) was very touching.

Dear TowneLaker,

My mom is so cool!!  She makes me feel special because she loves me and cares about me.  She is always at everything I do.  She teaches me how to play first base and catch. 

My mom is more special because she make sure Rossen and I eat healthy all the time.  She does not shop a lot, but plays with us a lot. 

The most important lesson mom teaches me is to be nice to others.  I try hard to do that.  I love my mom a lot!!!!!
