BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

What a pleasure it is to live and work in Towne Lake! We are the envy of our northern friends - great weather, neighborhoods with great amenities like swim, tennis and golf. Towne Lake was developed as a master planned community where residents would be able to live, work, shop, and have access to other necessary services without leaving the community.

The Towne Lake Business Association (the "TLBA") is committed to maintaining for you, our neighbors and loyal customers, an organization that will nurture and promote convenient, dependable businesses to satisfy just about all of your needs without having to leave the Towne Lake area. Imagine saving on time, gas, money and oh yeah stress from traffic.

The TLBA recently supported the first annual "Taste of Towne Lake and 5K Race" held at South Pointe Shopping Center. This event, showcasing our local restaurants, raised over $3,000 for the Anna Crawford Children's Center in Cherokee County! See page 35 for more details on the day's activities.

The June Lunch 'n' Learn workshop featured Carlotta Roberts of the Kenessaw State University Small Business Development Center. The lunchtime workshop focused on "Customer Service for the Small Business." On the third Tuesday of each month, a Lunch 'n' Learn workshop is held at Featherstones at Towne Lake Hills from 12:45 to 2:00 p.m. Topics for upcoming workshops will include: new business development, legal issues for the small business, and owner and employee benefit plans. Please call (770) 517-8210 ext 550 for more information or to reserve space for the next Workshop. The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch (inclusive).

Some of the issues we will address in future columns include: annexation of certain contiguous business areas of Towne Lake into the city of Woodstock, updates on events taking place at member businesses, and our view of ongoing residential and business development in the Towne Lake area community.

The TLBA supports our community through active participation in governmental affairs affecting the Towne Lake area and providing a channel through which our businesses and residents can voice their opinions on the future of Towne Lake.

Remember "Keeping Towne Lake Dollar$ in Towne Lake" helps support and strengthen our community. So stop by and see any of us - we are your friendly, caring neighbors. Just look for the green "Proud Member of Towne Lake Business Association" decal at member businesses.

NOTE: The Business Spotlight highlights one TLBA member each month with information showcasing their businesses.
