Red Cross Baby Sitting
This course will be held on Saturday, September
15 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is ideal for current and future baby-sitters.
It will teach important childcare skills to help you supervise and keep
younger children safe. Each participant will receive a manual, a baby-sitter's
handbook, and an official certification. Please bring a bag lunch. The
cost is $20 per child and $15 for supplies. For more information, call

First Aid
and Safety
This course will be held on Saturday, September
22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will allow you to receive an official Red
Cross Certification that satisfies adult, infant and child CPR along
with first aid training. Course material will cover burns, bleeding, choking,
assisted breathing, etc. The cost is $30 and is for ages 15 and up. For

Storytelling
Workshop
Are you interested in learning how to tell
attention grabbing stories using a flannel board? Come to the Recreation
Center on Saturday, September 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Each participant

Silver Roamers
Club
If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites
and having a great time, then why not join the Silver Roamers Club! The
Club meets once a month to discuss upcoming trips and to visit with each
other. Benefits of membership include 20% discounts on all trips and chances
to win prizes by accumulating miles in the Roamer Mileage Club. Membership
is open to adults 55 and older and costs $20 per year. For information,

Join the Silver Roamers on Thursday, September
6 for a trip to the 33rd annual Yellow Daisy Festival. More than
400 artists and crafters from 32 states and three countries display their
work for your appreciation and purchase. There will be live entertainment,
clogging and crafters demonstrations throughout the event. They will take
a fried chicken lunch. The cost is $15 for member and $17 for non-members.
Cost includes lunch, admission and transportation.
On Wednesday, September 12 the Silver Roamers
will take a trip to Turner Field for an afternoon of

baseball. The game will begin
at 1:05 p.m. against Philadelphia. The cost is $20 for members and $23
for non-members. Cost includes transportation
and game ticket.

On Wednesday, September 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will celebrate
another beautiful summer and their time together at the Pavillion behind
the Recreation Center. Please invite friends and family to attend. There
will be door prizes, bingo, entertainment and much more. Each person is
asked to bring a covered dish.
Hobgood Park
Hobgood Park is a wonderful facility located
at the north entrance of Towne Lake. It is open every day from 7 a.m.
to 10 p.m. It features four lighted softball fields, a lighted playground,
four lighted tennis courts, a ½-mile jogging trail, two pavilions with
grills, and six youth softball fields. For more information on Hobgood

Recreation
Center
The Recreation Center is located at the South
Annex at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. Hours are Mondays through Thursdays
from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays
from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Center is closed Sundays. The Center has
several rooms available for rent including the Aerobics Room, Community
Room, Gymnasium, Stage, Warming Kitchen and Pavilion.
