BASCOMB ELEMENTARY COLLECTING SUPPLIES FOR RESCUE WORKERS

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY FROM MY HEART TO YOURS
by Cassie Lowhorn

I'm too young to give blood so I want to help raise money to help the victims, families and American people of this terrible, terrible tragedy. I don't have alot saved, but I am going to donate $50.

The students at Bascomb Elementary gathered outside on a rainy Friday to show their support of our nation. The students were dressed in red, white and blue, waved flags they made and shouted "U.S.A., U.S.A."

This gathering was only the beginning of the support that Bascomb is offering to the rescue workers and victims of the recent tragedies. The students and staff of Bascomb Elementary are collecting bottled water, Gatorade, power bars, etc. to send to the rescue workers in New York City.

If you would like to contribute items, call (770) 592-1091.

What I want you to do is help donate money or match my contribution.

In this time of need we need each other. Please contribute and make all

our hearts grow bigger. I wish countries would all come together and be one.

I know the United States will never give up. When my friends at school told me their aunts, uncles and friends were dead, my heart started to hurt as if tears where running down it. I don't want their hearts or my heart to hurt anymore.

Cassie Lowhorn has collected more than $200 and will continue to collect and donate the money to the
rescue workers in New York.

Several children from Wyngate took it upon themselves to make ribbons to give in return for donations

to the American Red Cross.

The children knocked on doors throughout the neighborhood, distributed approximately 700 ribbons and collected more than $1,000. One Wyngate resident donated $150!
