Silver Roamers Club

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites and having a great time, then why not join the Silver Roamers Club! The Club meets once a month to discuss upcoming trips and to visit with each other. Benefits of membership include discounts on all trips and chances to win prizes by accumulating miles in the Roamer Mileage Club. Membership is open to adults 55 and older and costs $20 per year. Join the Silver Roamers on Monday, October 1 for a trip to the mountains. The Silver Roamers will take a trip to Highland, North Carolina. They will have lunch and then spend the afternoon strolling through the shops. The cost is $3 for members and $5 for non-members. Cost includes transportation only. 

On Saturday, October 20 take a trip to Rome, Georgia for the annual arts and crafts fair. There will be numerous items for sale and plenty of food - everything from boiled peanuts to fried chicken, grilled corn on the cob to BBQ, and ice cream to funnel cakes. The cost is $3 for member and $5 for non-members. Cost includes transportation only.

On Tuesday, December 11 through Thursday, December 13 the Silver Roamers will take a trip to Pigeon Forge and The Dillard House. Don't miss the opportunity to see a Christmas in the mountains. Enjoy a family style lunch at The Dillard House and drive through the Great Smoky Mountains. During the trip, enjoy The Louise Mandrell Christmas Show, and Ron Blackwood and the Blackwood Quartet at the Mandrell Theatre. A dinner at The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and admission to The Southern Nights Christmas Music Show is scheduled. The cost is $250 for members and $275 for non-members. Cost includes transportation, two nights lodging, two breakfasts, two dinners, The Dillard House lunch and three shows. Payment plans can be set up. Hobgood Park

Hobgood Park is a wonderful facility located at the north entrance of Towne Lake. It is open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. It features four lighted softball fields, a lighted playground, four lighted tennis courts, a ½-mile jogging trail, two pavilions with grills, and six youth softball fields. Recreation Center

The Recreation Center is located at the South Annex at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. Hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Center is closed Sundays. The Center has several rooms available for rent including the Aerobics Room, Community Room, Gymnasium, Stage, Warming Kitchen and Pavilion.

Fall Hay Day

On Saturday, October 27 come by the Recreation Center for the CRPA Fall Hay Day. There will be a kid's costume contest, hay rides, a haunted house, costumed characters, carnival style games, a cake walk, a dinosaur moonwalk, and much more. The festivities are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The cost is $2 per person or $6 for a Family Pass and $.25 game tickets. The Family Pass includes 5 game tickets. When you buy 5 tickets you get one free.

 Fencing Fun

The program will begin with a history of the sport followed by several demonstrations. Each participant will learn the basics of competitive fencing, including equipment, technique and most importantly, safety. All equipment for competitive fencing will be provided.  Senior Aerobics Program

The CRPA offers a fitness program specifically designed for Seniors on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. For more information, call Carol Brock, (770) 924-7768.

 Tennis Lessons

CRPA is currently taking registrations for fall evening tennis classes. Classes are offered for tots, children and adults at Hobgood Park. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.
