Parent's Night Out

Enjoy a night out on the town while the kids enjoy an evening full of fun, food and freedom at the CRPA Activities Center. On Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. children ages 6 . 12 are invited to participate in gymnastics, games, movies and more. Parents are required to check their child(ren) in and out. Payment will be made at pick up. The cost is $3 per child per hour. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.

American Red Cross Baby-Sitting

This course is ideal for current and future baby-sitters and will take place on Saturday, November 17. It will teach important childcare skills to help supervise and keep younger children safe. Each participant will receive a manual, a baby-sitter's handbook, and an official certification. This program is for children ages 11 . 15, and the cost is $20 plus $15 for supplies.  Senior Aerobics Program

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites and having a great time, then why not join the Silver Roamers Club! The Club

meets once a month to discuss upcoming trips and to visit with each other. Benefits of membership include discounts on all trips and chances to win prizes by accumulating miles in the Roamer Mileage Club. Membership is open to adults 55 and older and costs $20 per year. Join the Silver Roamers on Wednesday, November 14 for a trip to North Georgia. The Silver Roamers will take a trip to The Smith House and Babyland General Hospital. Enjoy a family style all you can eat lunch at The Smith House in Dahlonega. Then venture over to Cleveland to walk through Babyland General Hospital. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Cost includes lunch, admission and transportation.

Come celebrate Thanksgiving at the Thanksgiving Luncheon. Celebrate Thanksgiving on Monday, November 19 at 12 noon in the Recreation Center. Bring a covered dish and enjoy!

Next stop . . . Christmas shopping at the Dawsonville Outlets. Get your shopping done before the crowds and spend time with friends. On Thursday, November 29 at 11 a.m. the group will leave from the Recreation Center. Cost is $3 for members and $5 for non-members. Cost includes transportation only.

On Tuesday, December 11 through Thursday, December 13 the Silver Roamers will take a trip to Pigeon Forge and The Dillard House. Don't miss the opportunity to see a Christmas in the mountains. Enjoy a family

style lunch at The Dillard House and drive through the Great Smoky Mountains. During the trip, enjoy The Louise Mandrell Christmas Show, and Ron Blackwood and the Blackwood Quartet at the Mandrell Theatre. A dinner at The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and admission to The Southern Nights Christmas Music Show is scheduled. The cost is $250 for members and $275 for non-members. Cost includes transportation, two nights lodging, two breakfasts, two dinners, The Dillard House lunch and three shows. Payment plans can be arranged. Hobgood Park

Hobgood Park is a wonderful facility located at the north entrance of Towne Lake. It is open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. It features four lighted softball fields, a lighted playground, four lighted tennis courts, a ½-mile jogging trail, two pavilions with grills, and six youth softball fields. Recreation Center

The Recreation Center is located at the South Annex at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. Hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Center is closed Sundays. The Center has several rooms available for rent including the Aerobics Room, Community Room, Gymnasium, Stage, Warming Kitchen and Pavilion.
