Blood Drive
American Heritage Academy is sponsoring
a blood drive for the LifeSouth Community Blood Center. The blood drive
will be held on Monday December 3, from 1 to 7 p.m. The blood mobile will
be located in the parking lot in front of the school at 2126 Sixes Road
in Canton. To donate blood you must be at least 17 years old and weigh
103 pounds or more. A valid ID must be presented at time of donation.

Foster Rescue Program
CCHS Foster Rescue Program is in desperate
need of foster homes. The Foster Rescue program helps alleviate overcrowding
at the shelter as well as offering an option for animals that arrive at
the shelter. The Foster Rescue Program is thrilled to announce that a
new off-site adoption location dedicated to fosters and rescues has recently
been secured and should go a long way towards shortening the amount of

Cherokee County Humane Society
Membership Meeting
The Cherokee County Humane Society invites
all residents to their General Membership Meeting. The meeting will be
held at the main Woodstock Library on December 4 at 7 p.m. The featured
speaker is Bob Christiansen, a nationally known expert on creating successful
spay neuter programs and pediatric spay neuters. CCHS strongly endorses
spay neuter as the only effective method to stem the tide of unwanted
and homeless animals.

Tomcat Clinics
As part of our Spay Neuter Assistance Program
(SNAP), CCHS will be holding special Tomcat Clinics where the public can
bring their male cats to be neutered for $20. These clinics are specifically
for cat neutering . no vaccinations or other treatments will be administered.
Appointments are required and only cash will be accepted at the door on

Cherokee County Meals-On-Wheels Seeks
Volunteers
Cherokee County Meals on wheels is seeking
volunteers to work two hours one day per week or month from 10:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will be asked to pick up the meals at the Senior
Center on Univeter Drive in Canton and drive them to the homes of Seniors
on a given route. Volunteers are given explicit directions to the client's
homes and are initially taken out on the route by a staff member. For

Family Violence
Center
The Cherokee Family Violence Center is
seeking volunteers. The Center offers shelter and support groups for women
and children who are victims of domestic violence. The Center will be
hosting a free volunteer training session in the near future. For more

Papa's Pantry
Papa's Pantry is seeking volunteers to
assist with food drives and fund raising, especially during the holidays.
They take donations of food all year round and now accept fresh fruits
and vegetables that have a "shelf-life" such as potatoes, apples, etc.

Pet Adoptions
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is open
for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Off-site
pet adoptions are also held on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Saturdays at Hwy
92 PetsMart, 1st Saturday at the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake (Dr. Weaver),
3rd Saturday at Haynes Pet Center in Towne Lake, every Sunday at Hwy 92
PetsMart and the 2nd and 4th Sundays at Barrett Pkwy PetsMart. All adoptions

Pet First Aid Class
The Animal Hospital of Towne Lake is offering

Cherokee County Senior Services invites
all Cherokee County residents, 60 years and older, to join the Congregate
