Benefit Golf
Tournament
The Optimist Club of Towne Lake will hold
its Seventh Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 1 at the
Towne Lake Hills Golf Course. Players of all skill levels will participate
in 18 holes of golf, a closest to the pin contest, a most accurate drive
contest, lunch and an awards banquet. There will also be a putting contest
and a chipping contest before tee off. All proceeds will be used to send
"at risk" children to summer camp at the South Cherokee YMCA, support
the establishment of a Boys & Girls Club in South Cherokee County,
create a scholarship fund for needy children in the community and purchase
children's books for the Rose Creek Library. Entry fee will be $125 per
person with optional $10 Mulligans (limit 2). This cost includes 18 holes,

Chattahoochee Nature Center
The Chattahoochee Nature Center has several
fun activities for the family during the month of April. Each Saturday
and Sunday Give Nature A Hand and Guided Hikes are free to the public.
The Center will also have other programs such as Pee-Wee Naturalists,
Eco-Kids (to coincide with Earth Day), Camp Chickadee (a spring break
camp, April 7 — 11), and Wild About Reptiles. If you would like

Family Violence Center
The Cherokee Family Violence Center is seeking
volunteers. The Center offers shelter and support groups for women and
children who are victims of domestic violence. The Center will be hosting
a free volunteer training session in the near future. For more information,

Pet
Adoptions
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is open
for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Off-site
pet adoptions are also held on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Saturdays at Hwy
92 PetsMart, 1st Saturday at the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake (Dr. Weaver),
3rd Saturday at Haynes Pet Center in Towne Lake, every Sunday at Hwy 92
PetsMart and the 2nd and 4th Sundays at Barrett Pkwy PetsMart. All adoptions

Spring Tea
& Fashion Show
The Woodstock Women's Society's Fourth Annual
Spring Tea & Fashion Show will be held on April 20, at Our Special
Place in Woodstock from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The

beneficiary this year will
be Must Ministries of Cherokee County. Tickets are
$25 which include a luncheon along with the fashion show, sponsored by
Maggie's Closet, Belk's and Dress Barn. There will also be a silent auction
of donated items from Cherokee merchants. Tickets are available at Maggie's

Spring Yard Sale
The 6th annual Hickory Flat Animal Hospital
Spring Yard Sale will be held on April 27 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at
the Hickory Flat Animal Hospital. Donations of clothing, household items,
antiques, books, toys, and other items will be accepted on Fridays from
1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in April at the

Tour of Distinguished Homes
The Fifth Annual Tour of Distinguished Homes
invites you to take a peek at several unique houses located in Marietta's
Keeler Woods and Burnt Hickory Road neighborhoods. The tour will be held
on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 21 from
12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The tour is presented by the Episcopal Church Women
of St. James'. The proceeds from the tour will go to support a variety
of community projects. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 on tour dates
and are available at St. James' Church, located at 161 Church Street in

Towne Lake Quilters
If you enjoy creating quilts, or would like
to learn how to quilt, this may be the class for you. The group meets
at Hillside United Methodist Church on the second Tuesday of every month
from 7 to 9 p.m. Each meeting features a quilting lesson, show-and-tell
session, Q&A for projects that need a little help, light refreshments
