Publix at Rose Creek

From the

Towne Lake Business Association

Spring is finally here — a time to rejuvenate our homes, our careers, and, of course, ourselves. What a pleasure it is to live and work in the dynamic Towne Lake area community. It's easy to be optimistic and positive when you are confronted with such beautiful weather, not to mention the good news we all have heard about recently on the recovery of our economy.

Many local business owners have told us that their businesses are doing well and are bouncing back strongly from the sluggish post 9/11 fall and winter season. However, we are also aware of other businesses that are struggling. In whichever category you may fall, we would like invite you to join us and become part of the Towne Lake Business Association (TLBA).

The TLBA's focus is simple — promote, encourage, and help develop Towne Lake area businesses. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month for our Lunch 'N' Learn workshops to share new ideas, develop new strategies, brush up on some old proven methods with which we may already be familiar, and to discuss ways to help and promote each other. The primary focus of all of our workshops is to help our members develop more business through effective marketing, advertising and excellent customer service — the true cornerstones of successful businesses.

"Becoming Customer Focused" was the topic of the March workshop. Jim Cady, of 360° Solutions, lead the group of members and guests through interactive discussion and exercises on the meaning of excellent customer service. Many great ideas ranging from dealing with dissatisfied customers to utilizing customer service surveys were discussed. We want to thank Jim Cady of 360° Solutions for putting on a great workshop!

As always, we thank you for supporting our local businesses, and thus, our Towne Lake area community. And please help us "Keep Towne Lake Dollars in Cherokee."

Store Manager Lonnie Peplau, Sue Dean, and Jeff Noble.

Publix Super Markets was founded by George W. Jenkins in Winter Haven, Florida in 1930. His vision was to create a company that would serve its customers better than any other food market. The legacy and tradition started by "Mr. George" was introduced to the Atlanta area market in the fall of 1992. The Rose Creek Publix has been serving the Towne Lake area since February of 1994. Store Manager Lonnie Peplau came to Towne Lake from a Roswell store in March of 2000 to succeed Walt Leonard, who had moved to the Sandy Plains store in Marietta.

In addition to offering home and grocery products, a pharmacy and a deli, Rose Creek Publix has many services available for the convenience of our customers including Western Union, money orders, Ticket Master, postage stamps, next day photo processing and Publix gift certificates.

Mr. George also strongly believed in giving back to his community. Rose Creek Publix supports our community through participation with local charities such as the Cherokee County March of Dimes, Cherokee Outdoor YMCA, Relay for Life and many others; sponsorships of local youth sports teams; and membership in organizations including the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, the Optimist Club of Towne Lake, and the Towne Lake Business Association. Publix also has donated more than $200,000 to local schools through the Publix Partners Program.

Publix also hosts a variety of events for our customers throughout the year, such as Kids Fest (Kids Photo I.D. — twice a year), Easter Bunny and Santa pictures, Italian Fest, Fall Fest (trick or treat) and Holiday Fest.

Publix would like to thank their customers for their continued patronage and look forward to continuing their service and contribution to the Towne Lake area community.
