ASAP Seeks Volunteers

ASAP (Animal Sterilization Action Plan), a program offered by SPARE (Sterilizing Pets And Reducing Euthanasia), needs volunteers to assist with transporting pets of the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged to local veterinarians for spaying or neutering. Other opportunities include fundraising and community outreach events, administrative tasks, and helping at spay/neuter clinics. Family Faith Film Festival

Hillside United Methodist Church will hold the annual Family Faith Film Festival July 5, 12, 19 and 26. The Family Faith Film Festival is back every Friday night in July. You can enjoy a recently released family film, drive-in style complete with all the fixins — popcorn, hotdogs, burgers, snow cones, and more! Come early since limited car parking is available, but you can always bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions open at 8 p.m. and the film begins at 9 p.m. in the church parking lot. Grab your family and enjoy these summer nights together!

Family Violence Center

The Cherokee Family Violence Center is seeking volunteers. The Center offers shelter and support groups for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Habitat For Humanity Seeks Volunteers

Cherokee County's Habitat for Humanity affiliate is seeking volunteers to help with the construction of several new homes. The majority of the work will be performed on the weekends. Construction experience and skills are not necessary as each home site requires a variety of volunteer contributions. They are also seeking financial, land and material donations for future sites. Jewish Federation
Seeks Volunteers

The Shalom Atlanta Program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is looking for volunteers to be part of their

Papa's Pantry

Papa's Pantry is seeking volunteers to assist with food drives and fund raising, especially during the holidays. They take donations of food all year round and now accept fresh fruits and vegetables that have a "shelf-life" such as potatoes, apples, etc. One of the donation barrels is located at The TowneLaker office at 1025 Rose Creek Drive. Pet Adoptions

The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Off-site pet adoptions are also held on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Saturdays at Hwy 92 PetsMart, 1st Saturday at the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake (Dr. Weaver), 3rd Saturday at Haynes Pet Center in Towne Lake, every Sunday at Hwy 92 PetsMart and the 2nd and 4th Sundays at Barrett Pkwy PetsMart. Towne Lake Women's Circle is now forming.
