The Towne Lake Business
Association recently hosted a Political Candidates Forum to allow citizens
from the Towne Lake area the opportunity to meet and hear the candidates
seeking offices. Nearly 80 people attended the Forum. Candidates for U.S.
Congress, State House and Senate and other State offices, County Commission,
School Board, County Judges, and more introduced themselves and gave 2-minute
statements on issues important to voters related to their offices. As
citizens, we are grateful to have rights associated with a free country,
but we must not forget our duty to vote. We encourage you to exercise
this right and vote for your candidates on August 20. Please see the Voters'
Guide for the 2002 Primary in The TowneLaker magazine for more information
on candidates running for office in the Towne Lake area.
