Chattahoochee Gold Swim
Team Holding Tryouts
The Chattahoochee Gold Swim Team will be
holding tryouts at the Woodstock Aquatic Center on August 6 between 4:30
— 7:30 p.m. for ages 6 — 18. Summer league or swim lesson
experience is recommended but not required. There is no fee to tryout.

ASAP Seeks Volunteers
ASAP (Animal Sterilization Action
Plan), a program offered by SPARE (Sterilizing Pets And Reducing Euthanasia),
needs volunteers to assist with transporting pets of the elderly, disabled,
and disadvantaged to local veterinarians for spaying or neutering. Other
opportunities include fundraising and community outreach events, administrative

Cherokee County Humane
Society Community Events
The Cherokee County Humane Society supports
their adoption and foster programs with special events held throughout
the community. On Saturday, August 10 from 10 a.m. — 1 p.m., Dance
Imagination, 2485 Towne Lake Parkway, will host a children's Dancing
for Doggies and Kittens program. Children will wear costumes provided
by the studio and will dance, play and listen to

at Dance Imagination, Othene Munson will demonstrate Yogini. Also on Saturday
August 17 and Sunday August 18, a tennis tournament, Love for Homeless

with a rain date of Saturday, August 24. The Humane Society is always
seeking participants, volunteers and sponsors to help save homeless pets.

Habitat for Humanity
Seeks Volunteers
Cherokee County's Habitat for Humanity
affiliate is seeking volunteers to help with the construction of several
new homes. The majority of the work will be performed on the weekends.
Construction experience and skills are not necessary as each home site
requires a variety of volunteer contributions. They are also seeking financial,
land and material donations for future sites. If you are interested in
helping provide affordable housing for deserving families in our county,

Pet Adoptions
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter
is open for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Off-site pet adoptions are also held on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Saturdays
at Hwy 92 PetsMart, 1st Saturday at the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake
(Dr. Weaver), 3rd Saturday at Haynes Pet Center in Towne Lake, every Sunday
at Hwy 92 PetsMart and the 2nd and 4th Sundays at Barrett Pkwy PetsMart.
All adoptions are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For additional information, please

Annual Golf Tournament
to Benefit Childrens Shelter
The Annual Golf Tournament to help with the
development of an Emergency Shelter for Children will be held on Labor
Day, Friday, August 30, at the Eagle Watch Golf Course. The shotgun start
will be at 1 p.m. This tournament will benefit the Emergency Shelter for
Children, supporting those who have been abused, molested or neglected
in Cherokee County. Any business, participant or volunteer is invited
