Everyday Angels
We cannot believe it has been a year since
Everyday Angels began! Reflecting back, we feel so grateful for the awesome
opportunity to give and help those who are experiencing difficulties and
challenges in their lives. The stories we have heard throughout the year
have kept us all humble and grateful for our many blessings. Our recipients
have ranged from victims of cancer, financial struggles, job losses, to
assisting a little boy who received a new eye, and everything in between.
We are most grateful for the opportunity provided by The Townelaker
and Sixes Living Magazine and to our readers who allow us the ability
to make a difference. We could not have done it without you!
First, we received a call from a friend of
a single mother who is finding it difficult to support her children. Exhausted
and frustrated, she struggles each day to find the strength to meet the
financial obligations of day care, bills and the everyday expenses associated
with raising two young children. It was not her choice to be a single
mother and raise her children on her own. Her bitterness has finally been
replaced with optimism and hope as she focuses on her blessings instead
of her challenging circumstances. Everyday Angels is happy to assist her
with some of her monthly expenses to ease some of her daily pressures.
While it is only a temporary relief for her, she is most grateful as she
lives her life day by day. We, however, feel she is on the right path;
her strong faith will see her through the most challenging days ahead.
Additionally, we will assist a sweet girl
from Columbia who has lived and worked in the Towne Lake area for the
past three years. She cleans homes for many residents and desperately
needs to improve her English. However, classes are a luxury for her. We
are happy to assist her with the costs of her English class at a local
college in hopes that it will enable her to further her opportunities
in our country.
