Operation Orange:
Cherokee County Remembers 9-11

Our community united in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9-11. Seqouyah High School became the central point for many to come and remember. Each Cherokee County school made a banner which was placed on the stadium fence. Fire fighters and law enforcement officers participated in a special drama, and each high school band and JROTC performed. Judge Frank Mills was the guest speaker. Chapman Intermediate made a human flag, Bascomb students wrote "How they could help their community," on index cards and hung it on the school wall. E.T. Booth let red, white and blue balloons go. Carmel had a luncheon for our community Firemen and Law Enforcement officers. Liberty Elementary fifth and sixth grade chorus sang in a special program.
