Alzheimer's Association
5K Memory Walk
The Alzheimer's Association is hosting their
11th Annual 5K Memory Walk on Saturday, October 5 at 1025 Century Boulevard,
Century Center Office Park in Atlanta. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and

Boy Scouts Popcorn Sale
The annual Boy Scouts of America Popcorn
Sale is going on now through the end of October. The sale features Trails
End popcorn, which is only available through the Boy Scouts. Proceeds
from the sales go to individual Scout units in the Cherokee/Pickens District.

Carmel Elementary Fall Festival
Carmel Elementary School will hold their
Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 5 from 3 — 7 p.m. The
main attractions will be a climbing rock wall and a giant slide. There
will also be an inflated Octopus named Oscar and a fantastic Kids' Challenge.
Additional favorite carnival activities include pony rides, cake walk,
country store, face painting, haunted house and of course, a "jail" to
put your favorite person or teacher. There will be food and prizes. For

Christian Contemporary Music
Amateur Artists' Network
A group of local Christian contemporary musicians
will hold an open house on Saturday, October 19. The group's goal is to
introduce local musicians, song writers, singers, and sound engineers
to a new Christian network called Christian Contemporary Music Amateur
Artists' Network (CCMAAN). Open Heart and Woodstock United Methodist Church
will host the event which will be held at Latimer Hall (formerly City
of Woodstock Town Hall). There will be live music provided by Your Fellow
Amateur Artist, dinner and a guest speaker. For more information, call

City of Woodstock Fall Festival
The City of Woodstock will hold its
Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 5 at Woodstock City Park. The
festival will feature arts, crafts, children's games and tasty food. In
conjunction with the Festival, Dancentre South Studio will hold
its first Annual Woodstock Toy and Collectible Festival on Saturday, October
5 from 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for the Company's
upcoming trip to Germany. Admission will be $5. For more information,

School Fall Festival
Kleven Boston Elementary School will hold
their Annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 18, from 5 — 9 p.m.
One of the biggest attractions at the festival has been the raffle baskets.
The baskets this year will average in value of $1,000. In addition to
the raffle, the festival will feature carnival-style games and prizes,

March of Dimes
Annual Gourmet Auction
The March of Dimes will hold its 14th Annual
Star Chefs Gourmet Auction on Sunday, November 6. The event will begin
at 6 p.m. with bidding on prize packages in both live and silent auctions.
During the auction, guests will be able to sample signature dishes from

Pet Adoptions
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is open
for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. — 6 p.m. Off-site
adoptions are also held on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Saturdays at Hwy 92 PetsMart;
1st Saturday at the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake (Dr. Sherry Weaver);
3rd Saturday at Haynes Pet Center in Towne Lake; every Sunday at Hwy 92
PetsMart, and the 2nd and 4th Sundays at Barrett Pkwy PetsMart. All adoptions
