Basics of Personal Protection

This class will teach you about personal protection in your home. The class will include the rules of safe handling of guns and guidelines for selecting, safe loading, unloading, and firing handguns. The class will be Thursday, November 7 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The cost for this class is $35. For information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

 Creative Memories Scrap Booking

If you are looking for quiet, uninterrupted time to work on your scrap booking, the Recreation Center is the place to be. On Monday, November 25, you can work from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. If nighttime is better, you can go Thursday, November 21 from 5 - 9 p.m. The cost is $5 per session. Ladies Only Handgun Class

The second session of the Ladies Only Handgun Class will begin Thursday, November 21 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Recreation Center. You will be instructed on how to defend against a criminal attack, sharpening your handgun skills, and how to load and unload a gun safely. The cost is $35. Open Stamp Night

On Thursday, November 21, you will have an opportunity to work on your rubber stamp projects. Bring your own supplies and meet others who enjoy the art of rubber stamping. The cost is $10, and it begins at 6 p.m. For information, contact Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Start Smart Soccer

This is an introductory program for children ages 3 - 6 that prepares them for organized soccer in a fun, non-threatening environment. Using Koosh equipment, parents will work one-on-one with their child. The class will be every Tuesday, November 12 through December 17, from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $65. Tang Soo Do

This form of martial arts is for everyone - children, teens and adults. Classes will be held each Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., and 7:45 - 8:45 p.m. The class welcomes ages 6 and older. Fencing Fun for ages 11 and up is just one of the many programs offered at the CRPA Recreation Center. The CRPA Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information call (770) 924-7768.

Winter Break Camp

Registration for the Winter Break Camp for ages 6 - 12, begins Tuesday, November 5 at the Recreation Center. The Camp will run December 30 through January 3. The cost for the Camp will be $20 per day. For further information, contact Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Silver Roamers Club

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. November's meeting will be on Monday, November 4 at 11 a.m. at the Recreation Center. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. Join the Silver Roamers for a day of shopping and lunch at the Mall of Georgia. The trip will be on Thursday, November 14. The cost will be $3 for members and $5 for non-members. This includes transportation only. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. from the Canton Senior Center.

The Silver Roamers will attend the production of Sequel to Smoke on the Mountain at the Theater in the Square in Marietta, on Wednesday, November 20. This sell-out hit will combine seasonal music with old-time gospel songs. The group will stop for lunch before the play. The cost is $22 for members and $24 for non-members and includes transportation and admission. The bus will depart the Recreation Center at 11:45 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 12:15 p.m.

Recreation Center

The Center is located at the South Annex at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Center is closed Sunday. The Center offers a variety of programs for residents and has several rooms available for rent including the Aerobics Room, Warming Kitchen, Community Room, and Pavilion.
