Blood Drives
The American Red Cross is in desperate need
of blood donations, all types, but especially "O." Donating is safe and
takes about an hour. Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old
and weigh at least 110 pounds are eligible to give. You can donate at
the following locations:
December 8. Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
December 18. Cherokee County Recreation
Center, 2 - 7 p.m.
December 19. Hillside United Methodist
Church, 2:30 - 7:30 p.m.
December 21. Arnold Mill Elementary
School, 1:45 - 6:45 p.m.

CANFEST 2002 Concert
Towne Lake Community Church's Youth Group
invites the community to join them for a night of music and entertainment
on Sunday, December 8 at the the church, located next to Wellstar on Towne
Lake Parkway. Featuring Whitehorse, WithStand and Lucyd,
the concert begins at 5:30 p.m. with the last band starting at 7:30 p.m.
The cost is one bag of canned foods to be donated to needy families in
the Towne Lake community and surrounding areas. For more information,

Cherokee Ballet Theatre's
Nutcracker
The Cherokee Ballet Theatre will present
the Nutcracker on December 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. at Cherokee High School.
Tickets will be available at the door and at Woodstock School of Ballet.

CCHS Holiday Gala
Recognition Party
Featherstone's at Towne Lake Hills will be
the host for the Cherokee County Humane Society special night of recognition
to everyone who has volunteered, sponsored or helped the Cherokee County
Humane Society. This cocktail attire gala is opened to the community and
tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple for CCHS members and $30
per person or $50 per couple for non-CCHS members. Reservations are required.

Christmas in Towne
First Baptist Church of Woodstock will present
a free community Christmas celebration. Three holiday productions will
be performed at Woodstock High School's Theatre on Sunday, December 1,
December 8 and December 15. Each Sunday will feature a different production.

Christmas Jubilee
Join Santa and the City of Woodstock for
the annual Christmas Jubilee on Saturday, December 7 from 4 - 6:30 p.m.
A parade will start the festivities at 4 p.m. beginning in the Wal-Mart
parking lot on Highway 92 and head down Main Street, ending at Woodstock
City Park. The parade will be followed by caroling, exhibitions from local
dance and choral groups and the annual tree lighting ceremony in the Park
at dusk. Hot cocoa, mulled cider, and other warm beverages will be available.
In conjunction with the Christmas Jubilee, local merchants will present
their Christmas Open House. Extended shopping hours from 10 a.m.
- 9 p.m., special sales and refreshments will be on the agenda.
Dance Imagination's
Nutcracker
On December 14 at 10 a.m., Dance Imagination
will present a benefit production of the Nutcracker. Proceeds will
benefit the Cherokee County Children's Ministry. This production will
be at Hillside United Methodist Church in the Celebration Hall, and all
patrons are asked to bring a wrapped, children's book. For further information,

Feed My Lambs Benefit
The Towne Lake area community is invited
to attend a fashion show, brunch and concert on Tuesday, December 3 at
9:30 a.m. to benefit Feed My Lambs at Featherstone's at Towne Lake Hills.
A brunch will follow the concert featuring Maria Mongillo. Tickets are
$20 and will be available until December 2 at Bruster's Ice Cream and

Open Spring Registration
The Hobgood Park Youth Association Spring
2003 open registration will be held January 11 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Age
range for baseball is T-ball to 13. Girls softball age range is 4 to 15.

A new Western-style square dancing club is
forming in Woodstock. Dances will be held in the Woodstock Jaycees Building
