Adventures Express
Winter Day Camp

The Recreation Center will have its Adventures Express Winter Day Camp December 30 and 31, and January 2 and 3 from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. The days will be filled with arts and crafts, games, movies, outdoor play, indoor gym games and field trips. Christmas Card Class Rubberstamping

Create your own creative and unique Christmas cards with stamping techniques. The class will be Thursday, December 5 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., and the cost is $10, which includes supplies. For more information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Fencing Fun

If you've ever had an interest in learning how to fence, the Recreation Center is offering a beginning fencing class on Wednesdays December 4 - January 22 from 6 -7 p.m. This class is for ages 11 and up. For more information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Girls Fast Pitch

For the first time, the CRPA will offer a Girls Fast Pitch league using a pitching machine. Games and practices will be held at Hobgood Park for ages 10 and under and 12 and under. The season will run from March - May and will cost $95. For more information, call Kim Hamilton at (770) 924-7768.

Indoor Soccer League

Boys and girls indoor soccer leagues are currently forming. There will be an under 10 and under 12 divisions. This league is not a competitive league, but one which focuses on developing skills and having fun. Practices will begin Saturday, December 7, and the cost is $65 per player. Ladies Only Handgun Class

A ladies only handgun class will be taught on Thursday, December 5 from 6 - 9 p.m. The course will teach women how to defend themselves in a criminal attack, sharpen their shooting skills, and how to load and unload a gun safely. Spanish Classes for Kids

Club Chispitas teaches important language skills such as correct pronunciation, vocabulary and conversation. Children learn through interactive play using songs, games, balloons and special events. For more information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be Monday, December 2 at the Recreation Center at 11 a.m. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. On Sunday, December 8, the Silver Roamers will tour six private Marietta homes, which have been restored and decorated for the holidays. The group will have lunch afterwards. The cost is $20 and includes transportation and admission only. Additional money will be needed for lunch. For more information, call Betsy Allgood at (770) 924-7768.

Join the Silver Roamers for a Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 10 at the Recreation Center. Festivities include a holiday lunch, gift exchange and bingo. The cost is $18 per person, and each participant is asked to bring a wrapped Christmas ornament valued at around $5. For more information, call Betsy Allgood at (770) 924-7768.

On Tuesday, December 17, the group will head to Lake Lanier for the Magic Nights of Lights. The cost is $10 for members and $13 for non-members and includes transportation and the tour. Extra money will be needed for dinner. The tour will depart at 4 p.m. from the Recreation Center and 4:30 p.m. from the Canton Senior Center.

Recreation Center

The Center is located at the South Annex at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Center is closed Sunday. For information, call (770) 924-7768.
