American Red Cross
Baby Sitting

On Monday January 6, the Red Cross will feature its babysitting course from 9 a.m. — 3 p.m. The class is ideal for current and future babysitters. The course teaches bathing, CPR skills, feeding, safe play and much more. Each participant will receive a baby-sitters handbook and official certification. You will need to bring a sack lunch. The Art of Rubber Stamping

In this series, students will learn the basics of artistic rubberstamping. The class will be held each Thursday, January 16 through February 20 from 6:30 — 8:30 p.m. The cost is $10. For more information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Beginning Sign Language

This class is designed for anyone wishing to learn basic conversational skills needed to communicate with people who are deaf. The class will meet each Tuesday, January 7 through February 11 from 7 — 9 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The cost is $50. For more information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Girls Youth Volleyball

The CRPA is offering a girls youth volleyball league for grades 6th — 8th. The league will run January 7 through March 11. Practices begin at 7 p.m. and the games start at 8 p.m. The cost is $45 per player. For more information, contact Betsy Allgood at (770) 924-7768 or ballgood@crpa.net.

Line Dancing

Learn the most popular line dances in Atlanta. Each dance will be broken down, step by step. The class will be held each Monday, January 6 through February 24 from 7 — 8:30 p.m. The cost is $6 per class. For more information, call Neely Hand at (770) 924-7768.

Music Together

The goal of this program is to nurture children's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. The classes will be held each Wednesday, January 8 — March 12 from 10 — 10:45 a.m. The class is for children ages birth — four, and the cost is $155. Personal Protection Class

Learn the basics of personal protection in the home. Items discussed will include rules for safe handling of guns, maintaining shooting skills, avoiding and controlling a criminal attack and laws pertaining to purchasing, owning, or transporting a gun. Start Smart Basketball

Developmentally appropriate, introductory program for children ages 3 — 6. The class prepares kids for organized basketball. Koosh equipment will be used and parents will work one-on-one with their children. The class will be on Tuesdays, January 14 — February 18 from 5:30 — 6:30 p.m., and the cost is $65. Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be Monday, January 6 at 11 a.m. at the 1904 House in Woodstock. Membership is $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. On Thursday, January 30, the Silver Roamers will visit the Atlanta History Museum. The tour will be preceded by lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. The cost will be $15 for members and $17 for non-members and includes transportation and museum admission. Bring money for lunch. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 10:45 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 11:15 a.m.

Join the Silver Roamers on Wednesday, January 22 for a private tour of Chateau Elan's Winery. The tour will be followed by lunch at the Café Elan. The cost is $15 for members and $17 for non-members and includes transportation and the tour. Bring money for lunch. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 9:45 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 10:15 a.m.
