Art Show for Animals

An Art Show for Animals will be held on May 17 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Towne Lake Community Church. All proceeds will go to the Cherokee County Humane Society (CCHS). There will be original artwork, home décor, jewelry and crafts. The CCHS is looking for artists and volunteers for the event. Please call Felicia at (770) 516-7885.

Boys and Girls Club
Golf Classic

The annual golf tournament benefiting the Cherokee County Boys and Girls Club will be held Monday, May 12. The tournament will be held at the BridgeMill Golf Club. Buck Jones Nursery Contest

Buck Jones Nursery is holding a jellybean counting contest with the winner receiving a 4 foot tall Japanese Maple. Buck Jones Nursery is located on Hwy 140 in Woodstock, and entries for the contest will be accepted through Saturday, April 19. 

Feed My Lambs
2nd Annual Golf Tournament

The 2nd Annual Feed My Lambs Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, May 5 at Bradshaw Farms. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the shotgun start will be at 11 a.m. There will be a Fun Kids Zone which starts at 2:30 p.m. The registration fee is $250 and includes a goodie bag, lunch from Chick-fil-A and dinner from the Varsity. Kennesaw/Big Shanty Festival

The 27th Annual Kennesaw/Big Shanty Festival will be on April 12 from 10 a.m. -6 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 from 12 noon - 5 p.m. The Festival will be held in downtown Kennesaw, and admission is free. Local Schools Drama Productions

Several area school will present Spring drama productions. Woodstock High School will present See How They Run on April 24 - 26. Etowah High School will present Fiddler on the Roof on May 1 - 3. Carmel Elementary will present Cinderella on April 18 at 7 p.m. All productions are at the respective schools. 

New Presbyterian Church Garage Sale

The new Presbyterian Church on Sixes Road will hold a garage sale on May 1 - 3 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Along with the sale, there will be face painting, cookies

and balloons for the kids. The church is located at 2335 Sixes Road. All proceeds will go toward a summer mission trip to Mexico. For more information, please call (678) 445-0240.

March of Dimes
WalkAmerica 2003

The 2003 March of Dimes WalkAmerica will be on Saturday, April 26 starting at Ridgewalk in Woodstock. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the walk commencing at 9 a.m. Proceeds go to the March of Dimes. Passover Sedar

Passover Sedar dinner for any Jewish people wishing to share the holiday with others will be on Wednesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a prepared food item and wine for your family for the ritual blessings and a brief service. 2003 Rally for a Cure

The BridgeMill Ladies Golf Association will hold its Annual Rally for a Cure Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 3 at the BridgeMill Athletic Club. Interested golfers can sign up as a team or single player. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Spring Farm Days

Cagle's Dairy will host its Spring Farm Days all day on April 26 - 27. The weekend will include historic trades exhibits and an antique tractor show with tractor parades in the morning and afternoon. Bring a picnic or enjoy concessions. Reservations are not required and the cost is $7 for ages 2 and above. 

Woodstock Lions Club Joins White Cane Fundraiser

The Woodstock Lions Club has joined forces with the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation to help prevent blindness in Georgia. The Lighhouse helps more than 8,000 people a year across the state who required vision care or a hearing aid and have needed financial assistance. World of Gymnastics/Cheer Clinic

On May 10 and 11, the World of Gymnastics and World of Cheer will hold gymnastic and cheer clinics. The clinics are hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Shannon Miller, Olympian John Macready and U.S. National Team Member, Susan Jackson. The cost is $10 for students and $5 for parents.
