Adventures Express
Summer Day Camp

This camp will run May 27 through August 8 and will be filled with games, arts and crafts, field trips, movies and special events. The cost is a $20 registration fee plus $95 per week (siblings are $91 per week). The camp is for children age six - twelve. Open registration is Monday, April 28 beginning at 6 p.m. Parents can pick up numbers representing their place in line beginning at 2 p.m. 

All Sport Camp

This camp will allow children ages six - eight to experience a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, softball, flag football and tennis. Each day will include three different activities. The camp will be June 2 - 6 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The cost is $85. Space is limited. Registration begins Monday, April 28 at the Center. 

American Red Cross Babysitting

This course is ideal for current and future babysitters. The class will be on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for age 11 - 15. The course will teach important childcare skills such as bathing, CPR skills, feeding and safe play. The cost is $45 and includes a handbook and official certification. 

Pitching Machine Baseball

Registration for the season will be April 21 through May 16, and play will begin May 27. This team is for children at least seven years old and no older than eight by June 1, 2003. Game times will be at 6 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the cost is $85. For more information, please call Jason Shattuck at (770) 924-7768. 

Pee Wee Tennis

This introductory tennis program is for age four - eight. The sessions will be on Wednesdays, April 16 through May 7. All of the equipment used is age-appropriate as is the court and net size. The cost is $25. 

Smart Start Baseball

This is an introductory program for children age three - six that prepares them for organized baseball. The program is on Tuesdays, April 22 through May 27 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $65, which includes a T-shirt, Koosh glove and ball, a Mondo Koosh ball, a Koosh bat and foam ball and a Start Smart baseball manual.

Hopeful Hoops is a program for special needs kids - one of the many programs offered at the CRPA Recreation Center. The Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.

Spring Break Outdoor Camp

This camp is for children ages 7 - 13. Campers will canoe, hike, swim and visit the Newnan Wetlands Center. The camp runs April 7 - 9 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with extended care available. The cost is $75 and $15 for extended care. 

Tiny Mite Summer T-Ball

Registration for the season will be April 21 through May 16 for children at least five years old and no older than six years old by June 1, 2003. The season begins May 27. Game times will be at 6 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the cost is $70. For more information, please call Jason Shattuck at (770) 924-7768.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. Next meeting Tuesday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at the Recreation Center. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. If you are interested in joining, simply stop by the Center and apply.

On Tuesday, April 15, join the group for an afternoon movie with lunch before hand at Sweet Tomatoes. Transportation will leave from the Recreation Center at 11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. from the Canton Senior Center. The cost is $3 for members and $5 for non-members, which includes transportation only.

The Silver Roamers will visit Oak Hill and Martha Berry Museum on Wednesday, April 30. The museum houses an art collection as well as memorabilia from Martha Berry's life and work in the founding of Berry Schools. Lunch will be a Southern picnic on the grounds. The cost is $22 for members and $25 for non-members which includes transportation, lunch and tour. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 from the Canton Senior Center.
