Summer Camps
for Kids, cont'd
Project H2O
- This camp is for ages nine and ten. Campers
will visit the Lake Allatoona Preservation Authority's Water Resource
Center. Campers will learn about the lake and water shed, while conducting
chemical and physical tests on the water.
Outdoor Adventures
- This camp is for ages nine and ten, and campers
will participate in fort building, archery, canoeing and much more. Campers
will also learn fire safety and fire building techniques.
Kayaking Camp
- This camp is for ages nine through thirteen. Campers will learn how
to handle a kayak in the water, including proper strokes and steering.
Water Sports
- This camp is for ages nine through thirteen. Campers will experience
canoes, kayaks, pontoon boats and tubing.
Trailblazers
- This camp is for ages 11 through 13. Campers will participate in team
building and adventure through activities geared for the older camper.
One fun and exciting field trip is planned each week.
Camp Survivor
- This camp is for ages 11 through 13. Campers will learn the skills of
outdoor living. Campers will raft the Chattahoochee or experience an overnight
campout on the YMCA property.
Guard Start -
This camp is for ages 12 through 15 and teaches the proper response to
any aquatic mishap. Each participant must know how to swim and tread water.
Response book and materials are provided.
Swim Lessons
- This camp is for ages seven and older. These lessons are available for
campers at 4 p.m. daily during post-camp.
C.I.L.T.
(Campers in Leadership Training) - This camp is
for ages 14 and 15 and is for teens who are interested in becoming camp
counselors in the future. As a C.I.L.T. participant, campers will shadow
and work with counselors. Please call the front office at (770) 591-5820

Cherokee Outdoor YMCA
Half Pint Camp
Dates: May 27 - August

Time: 9 a.m. - 12 noon or 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., Cost: $70

This camp runs for three hours each day and includes
daily visits to the playground and wading pool. Campers participate in
arts and crafts, games and other activities.
