Around Towne

What's New
In our April issue, we reported that the
Personal Training Club in the Publix at Rose Creek had closed.
We are happy to report that we were incorrect and later informed that
the Club had actually moved to the Plaza at Towne Lake under the name,
Real Fitness, PTC, Inc., as indicated on the Plaza's monument sign.
Golden Café a new Chinese restaurant
will be opening soon in the Towne Lake Village Center. Guo Wei Lu, the
new owner, said this is the fourth Chinese restaurant he has been involved
in; the others are throughout the Atlanta area. Guo said "I am very happy
to make Towne Lake home of this new restaurant."
The UPS Store is the new name for
Mail Boxes Etc. United Parcel Service (UPS) acquired Mail Boxes
Etc. in 2001 and has been working to carve out a strategy that would maximize
the combination of the two businesses. The UPS Store will continue to
provide convenient service along with low UPS shipping prices. The UPS
Stores in Towne Lake are located in the Kroger Center and in the Towne
Lake Village Center on Rose Creek Drive.
The corner of Parkside Circle and Parkside
Drive (behind BP/Amoco and Eckerds) has two new businesses
scheduled to open in the coming months. In late summer, we will see a
new Express Oil, the first to open in Cherokee. They will offer
quick lubes on your car as well as light mechanical repairs.
Also, on this same corner, Towne Lake
Animal Hospital will open their new hospital at this location. Owner
Dr. Sherry Weaver will expand her three year veterinary practice, almost
doubling its size. She currently has more than 20 employees and two doctors,
and plans to hire a new doctor in the near future. They are currently
located at the Shops at Eagle Point and are open from 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
on weekdays, 8 a.m. - 4 on Saturday and 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday.
A new nail salon, Towne Lake Nails,
is expected to open in early May in the Southpointe at Towne Lake center.
A Daughter's Dream is a new tearoom
and gift shop for children of all ages. Located at 108 Arnold Mill Road
(the white house with a picket fence), A Daughter's Dream offers a wholesome
and unique charm which is sure to please even the toughest tea room critic.
Safety Town is a nationally recognized
child safety education program which reinforces safety issues for children.
Sponsored locally by the Cherokee County Council of PTAs, this program
will soon be available to Towne Lake area residents. For more information,
call Debi Radcliff at (770) 592-7864 or Meredith Hale (770) 517-0347.
(See Summer Camps on for additional details.)
