From the
Towne Lake
Business Association
Well it's time for the mid season report
card! The Braves are in first place, everybody's lawn looks great since
it seems to have rained every day for months, and the TLBA continues to
grow while having fun along the way!
We just held our annual election of officers,
so let me tell you who they are and what their duties will be. Our new
Vice President of Programs is Joe Gandolfo. Joe owns his own consulting
firm and will bring much new energy into our Lunch 'N' Learn Workshops.
Joe Segraves, a local attorney, will be in charge of our growing membership
as Vice President of Membership. Don Kyle, co-owner of CENTURY 21 Advantage
and The TowneLaker and Sixes Living magazines has assumed
the role as Treasurer again and also as the new Secretary. And myself,
Wayne Kosbe, owner of Towne Lake Fitness, will again assume the President's
position. I want to thank our outgoing officers, Vickie Holyfield, Jim
Cady and Chad Burrell for all their hard work this past year. Our group
has grown and we owe much to their efforts. Thank you all!
Our 3rd Annual Golf Tournament benefiting
the TLBA Scholarship Fund is scheduled for September 25, at the Eagle
Watch Golf Club. We recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to two graduating
seniors, one each at Woodstock and Etowah High Schools. I know it's still
early, but I wanted to let you know now so that you can get it on your
calendar. It's a great opportunity to meet other business people in our
community while having a ton of fun and helping out with a great cause.
Jeff Hamm of Network Telephone is our Tournament Coordinator this year.
Not only does Jeff have a lot of experience with golf tournaments, he
used to be a golf pro. Please contact us at (770) 517-8210 ext. 550 or
visit www.tlba.org if you would like further information.
"Don't Lose Sleep Over Employee Issues!"
was the topic of our June workshop. We want to thank Ita Gilbert of
Cherokee Center for Change for leading the workshop.
To learn more about the TLBA or to become
a member, please visit www.tlba.org or come to one of our workshops on
the third Tuesday of each month from 12:30 - 2 p.m.
As always, we thank you for supporting our
local businesses, and thus, our Towne Lake area community, and for "Keeping
Towne Lake Dollars in Cherokee."
Wayne Kosbe, President
