WELCOME HOME
"THE DELTA GUY"

July 16 could not come quick enough for the Ehmann family. Brady Ehmann, one of two National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk pilots involuntarily activated from the State of Georgia, was coming home. Brady's nickname and call sign, "The Delta Guy'" was given to him by his Unit due to his job as a Delta pilot. Brady, a resident of Eagle Watch, had been deployed to Baghdad since February.

Many of you saw Towne Lake that July day - it gave you goosebumps. The signs welcoming home Brady started at the Towne Lake Amoco/BP and continued up Towne Lake Parkway. Brady's friends and neighbors made banners and signs adorning every subdivision entrance, leading up to Eagle Watch. Every mailbox leading to the Ehmann residence had a sign on it welcoming Brady home. When Brady made that familiar turn toward his home, he saw a paper banner, stretched across the street, made by neighborhood children, for him to drive through. He saw neighbors lining the side of the roads waving and singing I'm Proud to be an American, and he saw his home, patriotically decorated. Brady was stunned and his comment was "unbelievable!"

Brady gladly and proudly serves his country, and the way the Towne Lake community served Brady and his family during his time of deployment was incredible. Brady received multiple packages from friends, churches and schools. According to Brady's wife Lisa, the whole community of Towne Lake came together. Brady received not only care packages, but he also received letters from local school children. Neighbors helped Lisa out any way they could.

Brady was hand-selected based on his past military experience and the fact that he is a Delta Pilot. He was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division and was stationed at

Camp Udairi in Kuwait, less than 10 miles from the Iraqi border. His unit was part of the leading front into Baghdad, taking over the city and the airport.

Brady is certainly glad to be home and thanks the Towne Lake community for such a tremendous homecoming. "We are very lucky to live in this community!" Lisa said.
