Where did the summer go? Can you believe
school is starting in a few days? I don't know about you, but I can remember
when we went back to school around Labor Day. Doesn't early August seem
just a little too soon for school?
School starting back also signals the 3rd
Annual TLBA Golf Tournament, which is scheduled for Thursday, September
25 at the Eagle Watch Golf Club. Proceeds from the event will go toward
our Entrepreneurial Scholarship Program. This past year, Lauren Clark
from Woodstock High and Lauren Naples from Etowah High were each awarded
$1,000 scholarships from the TLBA. Not only will this Tournament be a
great way to meet other local business and community leaders, you can
have a blast while raising funds for a great cause.
The entry fee is $125 per player and includes
range balls, cart and greens fees, T-shirt, door prizes, sack lunch prior
to tee off and more. Your round will be followed by a buffet dinner at
The Hearth during the awards presentation and live auction. Please call
Joe Gandolfo at (678) 640-0000 to register. The player registration deadline
is September 15.
For sponsorship information, please contact
Tournament Director Jeff Hamm at (770) 912-7936 or Don Kyle at (770) 516-7105.
Event, Gold and Silver (Hole) sponsorships are available. The sponsorship
deadline is September 8. For additional information, please call Jeff
Hamm at (770) 912-7936 or email at jeff.hamm@networktelephone.net. You
won't want to miss this year's event.
The topic of our July workshop was "The
Humane Society Reaching Out to the Business Community!" We want to
thank Felicia McAleer, President of the Cherokee County Humane Society,
for leading the workshop.
To learn more about the TLBA or to become
a member, please visit www.tlba.org or come to one of our workshops on
the third Tuesday of each month from 12:30 - 2 p.m. As always, we thank
you for supporting our local businesses, and thus, our Towne Lake area
community, and for "Keeping Towne Lake Dollars in Cherokee."
