American Red Cross Babysitting

This class is for current and future babysitters, ages 11 through 15 and will teach important childcare skills. Each participant will receive a baby-sitter's handbook and official certification. The course will be on Monday, October 13 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., and the cost is $45.

Fall Hay Day

The CRPA's annual Fall Hay Day will be held on Saturday, October 18 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The event will include carnival style games, hayrides, a haunted house, cakewalk, moonwalk and giant slide, pony rides, costumed characters and much more! The Center is also looking for people interested in renting a booth at the festival to sell or promote their product or business. Booth rental is $30. The cost is $8 per child and parents are free!

Hopeful Hoops

This program is designed for young athletes with special needs. All ability levels are welcome. A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will teach the class. The program will be held each Wednesday, October 29 - December 17 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $65 and is for ages 6 - 12.

Parents Time Out

Parents take a night out for yourselves and know the kids are taken care of. The Recreation Center will offer a Parents "Time Out" on Friday, October 17 from 5 - 9 p.m. for ages 5 and older. The cost is $25 per child and includes music, games, crafts and a snack/dinner.

Pee Wee Tennis

Pee Wee Tennis is designed to teach children ages four through eight how to play tennis. All equipment is provided and age appropriate. The second session will begin each Wednesday, October 15 - November 5. There are a variety of lesson times available, and the cost is $25.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be on Monday, October 6 at the 1904 House in Woodstock. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. If you are interested in joining, simply stop by the Recreation Center and apply.

The open and well lit foyer is the first thing you see when you enter the CRPA Recreation Center. The CRPA Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information, please call (770) 924-7768.

Join the Roamers on Tuesday, October 14 as they visit the Chief Vann House, a showplace of the Cherokee Nation. This is a two-story classic brick mansion and one of the best preserved Cherokee plantation homes. The group will stop for lunch along the way. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Transportation will leave at 9 a.m. from the Recreation Center and 9:30 a.m. from the Canton Senior Center.

The Roamers will be heading to the North Georgia Mountains October 21 - 23 for fun and fellowship. The trip will include a tour of Barnsley Gardens, the Etowah Indian Mounds and Roselawn. The group will also attend a dinner theater at the 1902 Stock Exchange. There will be speakers, dancers, bingo, entertainment and more! The cost for a single room is $325 for members and $335 for non-members. A double is $255 for members and $265 for non-members. The cost includes all meals, trips and accommodations at the Red Top Mountain Lodge.

The Silver Roamers are heading to Social Circle for lunch at the Blue Willow Inn on Wednesday, October 29. The group will enjoy a Southern Buffet that has been voted the BEST by Southern Living magazine. The cost is $20 for members and $23 for non-members and includes transportation and lunch. Transportation will leave the Recreation Center at 10:15 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 10:45 a.m.

Smart Start Basketball

This program is for ages 3 - 6. It will be on Thursdays, October 30 - December 4 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Parents will work one-on-one with their child practicing a variety of basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and running. The program is a developmentally appropriate, introductory program that prepares them for organized basketball. The cost is $65 and each participant will receive a T-shirt, soft-bounce basketball, regular mini basketball, four cones, a jersey and a Smart Start basketball manual.
