Aerobics Classes

The Recreation Center offers a variety of aerobics classes including step, low-impact and toning. Class format varies with each instructor. The cost is $28 per month and $25 for seniors. Drop in classes are $5 each and childcare is available for a nominal fee during the 9:30 a.m. classes only.

Birthday Parties

CRPA offers gymnastics birthday parties for children ages four and up. A party includes an instructor, use of the gym, a private party room for two hours, exciting activities, music and much more. The cost is $85 for up to 10 children and $5 for each additional child. Additional time for the party room is available for $10 per half-hour.

Enter a world of ballet and tap with costumes, music and props. Dance Imagination can help celebrate your child's birthday party at the CRPA with an unforgettable fairytale theme, including Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, Angelina the Princess and many more. C.H.O.I.C.E.S.

The Center Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully, Inc. is a fitness program for overweight and obese kids ages 11 - 17, held at the Recreation Center. This program is each Monday and Friday from 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. The cost is $15 per week. C.H.O.I.C.E.S. is devoted to combating obesity in children. A personal trainer and staff will introduce your child to a range of activities such as aerobics, basketball, tennis, and nutrition. For more information, contact Vanetta Keyes at (770) 952-7502.

Music Therapy

Healthy Beats provides music therapy for children with special needs. Group and individual sessions are offered. Sessions are tailored to fit the needs of every individual in a group. For more information, please call Healthy Beats at (678) 520-3080.

Parents "Time Out"

Parents, have a night out on the town and know your children are having as much fun as you. On Friday, November 14, the Recreation Center will host a Parents Time Out for children ages 5 and older. Activities will include music, games, crafts and snack/dinner. The cost is $25 per child and will be from 5 - 9 p.m.

Santa's Coming to CRPA

Kids can have breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 6 from 9 - 11 a.m. And parents can have great pictures of the event. The cost is $3 per person for breakfast and the picture with Santa is $3 for a Polaroid or $5 for a digital photo provided on a 3.5" diskette. Registration is required, so stop by the Center to pre-register.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be held on Monday, November 3 at the Recreation Center. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. If you are interested in joining, simply stop by the Center and apply.

Join the Roamers as they head to the South's favorite aquarium - The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The trip will be on Thursday, November 13 and will include lunch at Sticky Fingers after the tour. Transportation leaves at 9 a.m. from the Recreation Center and 9:30 a.m. from the Canton Senior Center. The cost is $18 for members and $20 for non-members and includes transportation and the tour. Bring extra money for lunch.

The Silver Roamers will head to Lenox Square Mall for Christmas Shopping on Friday, November 21. Transportation will leave at 9:30 a.m. from the Recreation Center and 10 a.m. from the Canton Senior Center. The cost is $3 for members and $5 for non-members and includes transportation only.

Tang Soo Do

This form of martial arts is for everyone; children, teens and adults. The class builds self-esteem and confidence and teaches discipline and self-defense capabilities. The class meets each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. or 7:45 - 8:45 p.m. For more information, please call Don or Paula Remick at (770) 517-2958.
