Around Towne

Calling all community residents. The Cherokee
Legislative Delegation is going to hold a series of "Towne Hall" meetings
in December. Please come and participate. The meetings will be held from
6:30 - 8 p.m. on the following days: December 9 at the Justice Center
in the Jury Assembly Room; December 10 at the Woodstock Library; and December
11 at the Rose Creek Library.
What's New
Wittle Ones in the Towne Lake Village
Center is now under new ownership and management. Towne Lake residents
Tricia and Craig Matheny are the new owners. Tricia said, "This is our
first big venture and we are excited about owning a store in the community
where we have lived for the past 10 years."
Salon Allure & Spa in Towne Lake
Commons is also under new ownership. Salim Bhamla is the new owner and
he stated, "Everyone will find the same staff and management. We are planning
to improve and expand the shop and bring new life into it."
Big League Barber, a nationally franchised
sports-theme barbershop, will open its doors on December 8. The barbershop
is located in the Colonnade at Towne Lake next to the Souper Grill. Owner
Jim Bayer said he is "Happy to be in Towne Lake and ready to serve the
community."
Supreme Sport, a sports store similar
to Sports Authority, is opening on December 1 in the Towne Lake Center
(new Publix center) on Towne Lake Parkway. Owners Pamela and Terry Terrette
and Terry's brothers Jimmy and Tom Terrette are extremely excited about
this new store. "We are a unique store; we will have a heat press and
embroidery facilities on the premises so we can fulfill a need immediately,"
said Terry. They will carry all the local schools' uniforms as well as
those for colleges, churches and sports leagues.
Woodstock Coffeehouse is also opening
its doors in the Towne Lake Center. This coffeehouse is next to the new
Publix and will offer coffee drinks, smoothies, fresh baked goods, salads
and sandwiches, as well as special yummy desserts.
The Towne Lake Center will also be home to
a Dollar Store, Mail Box Unlimited, an Alteration Shop
and Discount Nutrition. These shops are scheduled to be open in
the next few months.
Rozi's Ice Cream shop has opened its
doors off Bells Ferry Road, specializing in custard ice cream in 12 flavors.
The shop also offers malts, sundaes and sandwiches.
Yo-Yo's, a new family oriented restaurant
and entertainment facility, will open on December 6. They are located
in front of Cherokee Ford. They will cater to the entire family with separate
areas for teens and toddlers, including arcade games and a bar serving
coffee drinks and food. The gated toddler area will be off the main dining
area. Both areas will have adult supervision. Yo-Yo's is owned by local
residents Garry Harley, Tery Foster and Melissa Mintz.
Kani House Japanese Steakhouse in
the Towne Lake Square center is expanding the restaurant and they plan
to have all renovations completed by the first week in December.
The Family Tradition Restaurant is
scheduled to open its doors soon. The family style restaurant will be
located next to Publix at Rose Creek.
The Craft Barn, located at the intersection
of Mill Street and Towne Lake Parkway, is rapidly coming to completion.
Owner Jackie Hull says she plans to have the store opened by mid December.
Dr. Tali Cluxton has joined Dr. Barry
Belgard at Spinalright, a chiropractic practice located at 228
Creekstone Ridge in Woodstock.
