American Red Cross
Babysitting Class

This course is ideal for current and future babysitters. It teaches important childcare skills such as bathing, first aid skills, feeding and more. Each participant will receive a babysitter's handbook and official certification. The course will be held on January 19 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for ages 11 through 15. The cost is $45.

Beginning Sign Language

This class is designed for anyone interested in learning sign language. A portion of each class is devoted to addressing the specific needs or interests of individual students. The course will be held each Tuesday, January 13 through February 17 from 7 - 9 p.m. The cost is $50.

Beginning Watercolor

This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of watercolor painting. The class is open to beginners as well as those who would like to sharpen their skills. The course will be each Tuesday, January 13 through February 17 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon or 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. It's for ages 13 and older, and the cost is $75.

Fencing Fun

This class teaches the fundamentals of fencing including equipment, technique and safety. The Atlanta Fencers Club provides all the equipment. Fencing Fun will be each Wednesday, January 7 through February 25 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. It's for ages 11 and older; the cost is $125.

Intermediate/Advance
Watercolor

This class will benefit those with the basic watercolor skills, but want to learn more. A supply list will be provided before the class begins so students can come to the first class ready to paint. The course will be each Wednesday, January 14 through February 18 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon or 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. It's for ages 13 and older; the cost is $75.

Music Together

Music Together is a program based on the premise that all children are musical and have the same innate ability to learn music as a language. The program is for children ages birth through four, and will be held each Wednesday, January 7 through March 17

Fencing Fun for ages 11 and up is just one of the many programs offered at the CRPA Recreation Center. The Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.

Pee Wee Tennis

The next session of Pee Wee Tennis will be each Wednesday, January 14 through February 4. There are four different class times, from 3 - 3:30 p.m., 3:30 - 4 p.m., 4 - 4:30 p.m. or 4:30 - 5 p.m. The lessons are for ages 4 through 8, and all equipment used is age appropriate.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be Monday, January 5 at O'Charley's on Highway 92. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. If you are interested in joining, simply stop by the Center and apply.

Join the Roamers as they head to the High Museum followed by lunch at Houlihan's on Thursday, January 8. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members and includes transportation and museum admission. Please bring money for lunch. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 9:45 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 10:15 a.m.

The group will head to lunch at Henry's Louisiana Grill on Wednesday, January 14. Enjoy the Cajun cuisine with friends. The cost is $2 for members and $4 for non-members and includes transportation only. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 10:15 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 10:45 a.m.

Super Saturday Field Trips

Super Saturdays are special field trips for ages 7 through 12, chaperoned by the CRPA staff. The first trip will be Saturday, January 17 to the Atlanta Hawks vs. Toronto Raptors basketball game. The cost is $27 and includes transportation, game admission and dinner at Chick-fil-A. Transportation will leave at 4:30 p.m. for the game and return at 10 p.m.
