Howdy from the campaign
trail. So far, things are going pretty well with my Mayoral campaign.
The polls say that I'm in the lead. Of course, I am the only announced
candidate so I guess that is to be expected!
Remember last month when I told you that
I was going to have this big party called the Fur Ball? Well, I just wanted
to let you know that things are really coming together for all my animal-loving
friends to have a dandy of a party on March 6 at the beautiful Canton
Theatre.
For starters, we selected some really great
hors d'ouvres from this fancy caterer fellow. (Mom says that hors d'ouvres
is just a fancy word for yummy food. Sounds good to me!) As you might
have guessed, eating is one of my favorite things! After we've had a chance
to chow down and swap a few jokes with our favorite people, we'll get
to rest our paws a while. You won't believe it, but we are going to have
an appearance by "Orphan Annie" herself! Yes sirree, she's going to make
a special appearance to help her four-legged orphan friends. It seems
that Cherokee County has a real talented young lady who travels around
the country performing in the national tour of everyone's favorite Broadway
musical, Annie. In real life, our little Annie is known as Alexa
Ehrlich, a fourth grade student at American Heritage Academy. Alexa, the
daughter of Steven and Monica Ehrlich of BridgeMill, recently played Kate,
one of the main orphans in the Theater of the Stars production of Annie
at the Fox Theater. She was also the understudy for Annie.
Guess what else? Mom says that we are going
to have a special visit from the world-famous "Bird Man." It seems that
Cherokee County is also home to Ed Richman who has performed all over
the country with his beautiful big birds - Macaws and Cockatoos. He'll
be there with his winged wonders to help the animals as well!
Mom says that she has a few more surprise
guests up her sleeve. I guess we'll find out when we get there.
