The Art of Fashion Designing

If you think you have what it takes or want to learn how to design clothing like the top fashion designers, this class is made for you. Fashion Designer Karron English will teach this class for ages 12 - 17, each Monday beginning March 8 through May 3 from 5:15 - 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Karron at (404) 441-1631. The cost is $120.

Watercolor Classes

Learn the fundamental techniques of watercolor painting. Students will learn from demonstrations, as well as constructive critique of their own work. This class is for ages 13 and up. Classes will be held each Wednesday, March 17 through April 21 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The cost is $75.

Beginning Ballroom Dancing

Have fun while learning the Foxtrot, Waltz, Jitterbug, Cha-Cha and more. This is a beginner class for everyone, ages 11 and up. Classes will be held each Monday, March 1 through April 5 at 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. The cost is $45.

Dance, Dance, Dance

If you are looking for a fun and easy way to dance and work out, the Recreation Center is offering a dance class for those 50 and up. Choreographed dance routines will be taught while sitting in a chair. The class will be held each Wednesday, March 17 through April 28 from 6 - 7 p.m. The cost is $60.

Fencing Fun

Interested in trying something new and fun? The Recreation Center will offer fencing classes every Wednesday, March 17 through May 12 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Fencing Fun is for ages 11 and older. The cost is $125. The Atlanta Fencers Club will provide all the equipment.

Tennis Lessons

This is an introductory program designed for young athletes with special needs. All ability levels are welcome to come and learn the fundamentals of tennis. Participants must have their own tennis racket. The lessons are for ages 6 - 10. Lessons will be held at Hobgood Park every Wednesday, March 17 through May 12 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $65.

In-line roller hockey is one of the many programs offered at the CRPA Recreation Center. The CRPA Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.

Pee Wee Tennis

Children ages 4 - 8 can learn tennis in a non-competitive, instructional environment. The class is taught inside on a court one quarter the size of regulation, with a net 28 inches high. The classes will be held each Wednesday, March 3 - 24. There are several 30 minute session options available. The cost is $25.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be held on March 1, at Cracker Barrel on Riverstone Parkway. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. If you are interested in joining, simply stop by the Center and apply.

On Tuesday, March 9 the Silver Roamers will be heading to Midtown Atlanta to visit the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum. There will be a tour of the historic home and a southern style lunch at Mary Mac's Tea Room. The cost is $28 for members and $30 for non-members, which includes transportation, lunch and the tour. The group will depart from the Recreation Center at 10:15 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 10:45 a.m.

The Silver Roamers are going to the DeKalb Farmers Market on Thursday, March 18. This market offers a spectacular variety of the freshest produce at very moderate prices. Lunch will be at the Farmers Market Cafeteria. The cost for transportation only is $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

Join the Silver Roamers on March 30 for a ride along America's Most Amazing Mile. Enjoy a ride up the world's steepest passenger railway - the Incline at Lookout Mountain. The group will also visit Rock City, a marvel of nature featuring massive rock formations and gardens just in time for the Spring blossoms. The cost is $31 for members and $33 for non-members. It includes Rock City admission, lunch at Rock City, Incline ticket, and transportation. The group will depart from the Recreation Center at 9 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 9:30 a.m.
