Art of Trend Shopping

This class is for those interested in becoming a fashion designer or anyone who wants to learn to spot fashion trends. The course will take place at the Recreation Center and the Town Center Mall. The class will be held every Friday, June 4 - 25 from 1 - 4 p.m. for ages 13 and older. The cost is $110. For more information, please contact Karron English at (404) 441-1631.

Band Class
(Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion)

This class is perfect for those who wish to play an instrument or improve their current skills. Students will need to bring an instrument, folding music stand, pencil and depending on the playing level of the student, Book One or Two of Essential Elements 2000 for Band. All sheet music will be provided. The class will be held every Wednesday beginning June 2 through July 28 and the cost is $100. It will be held at the Activities Center on Rope Mill Road. Beginning Fencing

Participants will learn the basics of competitive fencing, including equipment, technique and safety. The classes will be held every Wednesday, beginning June 16 through August 4 from 5 - 6 p.m. for ages 11 and older. The cost is $100 and the Atlanta Fencers Club will provide all equipment.

Fencing Club

This monthly club is designed for the intermediate to advanced fencer who wishes to perfect their fencing skills. Meetings will be held every Wednesday, beginning June 2 from 6 - 8 p.m. for ages 11 and older. The cost is $60 per month.

Intermediate Fencing

This class is designed for those who have completed the beginning fencing class. This course will be held every Wednesday, beginning June 16 through August 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. for ages 11 and older. The cost is $125.

Magic and Munchies

The day will begin with participants making their own special trail mix munchies, followed by a magic show performed by Tommy Johns. Tommy is a full-time magician with more than 25 years experience. After the show, he will teach children and parents about magic and some specific tricks. The event will be held on Saturday, June 19 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for children 6 and under, $7 for children 7 and older and $2 for parents.

Orchestra Class

This class is for children who have an interest in playing a school orchestra instrument or wish to improve his or her skills. All students are required to bring an instrument, folding music stand, pencil, and depending upon playing level, Book One or Two of Essential Elements 2000 for Strings to each class. The class will be held every Monday, beginning June 7 through August 2 and the cost is $100. Classes will be held at the Activities Center on Rope Mill Road. Pee Wee Tennis

The Pee Wee Tennis program is designed to teach children ages 4 - 8 how to play tennis. All equipment used is age-appropriate and is furnished by the CRPA. The sessions will be held every Wednesday, beginning June 9 through June 30. Class times vary beginning at 3 - 3:30 p.m., 3:30 - 4 p.m., 4 - 4:30 p.m. or 4:30 - 5 p.m. The cost is $25.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting will be on Monday, June 7 at the Recreation Center. Membership is only $20 per year, which allows you many benefits including discounts on events and trips. If you are interested in joining, simply stop by the Center and apply.

Join the Roamers as they head to Barnsley Gardens and Adairsville on Wednesday, June 23. Barnsley Gardens is a magnificent estate surrounded by hundreds of species of roses, ponds and waterfalls. Lunch at the Adairsville Inn will follow the tour. The cost is $32 for members and $35 for non-members and includes transportation, tour and lunch. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 9 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 9:15 a.m.
