From the

Towne Lake Business Association

The Towne Lake Business Association (TLBA) welcomes you to "Towne Lake, the friendliest little town in Georgia."

The political season is now in full gear, and we at the TLBA encourage all registered voters to go out and exercise your right to vote in the primary election on July 20. Many of the local races will be decided then as there is no Democrat opposition.

Speaking of politics, the TLBA hosted a Political Candidates Forum recently at the Towne Lake Community Church (TLC). Nearly 40 local residents and TLBA members and 30 candidates and their entourage attended. Each candidate was given an opportunity to present a three-minute speech on his or her platform, position and issues.

The TLBA would like to thank Pastor Bill Ratlifff of TLC for allowing us to use their facility for the Forum and Publix at Rose Creek for providing the food and beverages.

Please take a look at our calendar of upcoming events.

Janet and Dan O'Brien

O'Brien Productions is owned and operated by Janet and Dan O'Brien. They have been in business since 1986 and produce more than 400 events a year throughout the Southeast. They specialize in casino parties, company picnics, luaus, team building, sales meetings and party rentals. The business operates out of a 4,000 sq-ft building in Kennesaw, which was built by the O'Brien's last year.

Janet and Dan have worked hard to develop a company that proudly bears their name. Their parties and client base range in size. Some of the larger events include Lockheed (40,000 guests), General Motors (10,000 guests) and Mall of Georgia's 4th of July Celebration. However, O'Brien Productions also enjoys doing smaller events for the local community. They have provided most of the social events at Eagle Watch for the past eight years and the inflatables at Bascomb Elementary School's Spring Splash and American Heritage Family Day. They have also produced casino parties for the Junior Service League, the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and Towne Lake Hills social events. Dan is often the DJ for many local celebrations at BridgeMill and Towne Lake.

An important aspect to their business is giving back to the community. They have volunteered endless hours with community groups to raise money. They are members on several boards of directors, including Cobb Family Resources, YMCA, Girls, Inc., Atlanta Food Bank, The Center for Children and Young Adults, and WellStar Foundations. For the past three years, Janet has chaired the Wellstar Gala and Dan has chaired the Wellstar Golf Tournament, raising more than $200,000 each year. They also open their home to friends and family for an annual Luck of the Irish St. Patty's party and have raised $25,000 for local charities.

Stop by and visit. They are 1½ miles north of Barrett Parkway on Highway 41/Cobb Parkway. For your event planning needs, please call (770) 422-7200 or visit their web site at www.obrienproductions.com.
