Mom's Night Out . . .
You're invited for an evening of relaxation and fun!
by Toren Anderson

There comes a time in every mom's life when she says, "I need a break! Stop the world I want to get off!" Well if you said this recently, the new owner of Wittle Ones, Tricia Matheny, has a great escape plan for you!

Welcome to Mom's Night Out. A night for moms, a night where you can relax, talk to other moms about your kids (or not), a night where you can say "this one's for me" and not feel like you just committed the ultimate sin of not putting your family first.

Mom's Night Out is about mom's getting spoiled and taking time for themselves. And it is Free! Tricia's premier opening of Mom's Night Out will begin at Wittle Ones, located in the Towne Lake Village Center on Rose Creek Drive, on Friday, August 27 at 7 p.m. - Moms will enjoy appetizers from The Winchester Woodfire Grill prepared by Winchester's new Chef Greg Sears. Chef Greg will be serving a southern contemporary sampling of corn meal-crusted green tomatoes with crawfish tarter sauce and crab cakes with cucumber jicama slaw - does it get any better? You bet! Charlie's II on Bells Ferry Road will compliment this awakening of your taste buds with a fine selection of Napa Valley Chardonnays. (Designated drivers are a must although this is only a sampling.)

Where do moms go from here you ask! Down the street to The Butchers Block - A Market Place, where else? Located on Eagle Drive, The Butchers Block Executive Chef Michael Connolly will be ready and waiting for each and every special mom. Chef Michael has planned delicate samplings of Sesame Crusted Tuna, Salmon with Blood Orange Honey Glaze, Chicken Cordon Bleu and the famous Butchers Block Tenderloin with horseradish cream sauce. Chef Mike will be sharing these recipes with each participant (just in case you know of an upcoming tail-gating party, the Tenderloin is an ideal must-have item). In addition to the excellent menu planned by The Butchers Block, there will be virgin cosmopolitans, mojitos and apple martinis with flavored sugar rims to quench the thirst of each mom.

The Butchers Block is family owned and

operated, and co-owner Kellie Block will explain her mission to provide healthier meal choices for all ages. "In this fast-paced world, without planning and know-how, we all tend to choose processed foods that further deplete our energy and health," stated Kellie. She will discuss alternate tasty lunch ideas to replace those quick processed packaged snacks and lunches we sometimes offer our families.

Kellie is also excited about giving kids a chance to help their moms in the kitchen. In September, she will be providing a new class series entitled "Kids in the Kitchen." The class will also give kids hands on demonstration of the right food choices. Kellie is of the opinion (perhaps rightly so) that "if they make it, the chance is good that they will want to eat it." Everyday is a good day to help our kids start thinking about eating healthier.

NOTE: RSVP for Mom's Night Out to Tricia Matheny at (770) 928-4545 by no later than August 21.
