Hospital Open House
The
Animal Hospital of Towne Lake will hold an open house on Thursday, September
18 from 1 - 5 p.m. Owner, Dr. Sherry Weaver, opened her new larger location
earlier this year and is hoping to introduce her state of the art facility
and services to the community. The day's activities will include tours
of the facility, observance of actual surgeries, food, fun giveaways,
balloons and more. The Hospital is located at 3105 Parkbrooke Circle,
behind Zaxby's.
Anna
Crawford Children'sCenter Benefit Auction
The
Anna Crawford Children's Center will hold the 6th Annual Mayor W. David
Rogers Benefit Auction and Luncheon on Friday, September 24 at 11:30 a.m.
This event takes place at Hillside United Methodist Church, 4774 Towne
Lake Parkway. Individual tickets are $35. To purchase tickets, donate

Annual
Riverfest Festival
The
20th Annual Riverfest Festival, a fundraiser for the Service League of
Cherokee County, will be held on September 25 - 26 at Boling Park in Canton
from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by several community businesses
and will feature a wide variety of artists and crafters, live entertainment,
children's activities and food. The proceeds from the event will allow
the Service League to provide assistance to the needy children of Cherokee
County. Admission to the festival is $5 for adults and free for children
12 and under. Boling Park is located on the banks of the Etowah River

Safety Check
Lynn Chiropractic will
conduct free backpack safety checks for children on Saturday, September

Basketful
of Broadway
A
Basketful of Broadway is a one-person show, which will include songs
and scenes from a wide variety of Broadway musicals. The show will be
performed by Gay Grooms at the Towne Lake Arts Center on Friday, September
10. A reception with light refreshments will be held from 7 - 8 p.m.,
and the show will begin at 8 p.m. The show is a benefit for the Towne
Lake Arts Center to purchase new chairs for its theater. The tickets are
$25 for adults and $15 for those under 18. Tickets need to be purchased
by September 8, in order to properly plan for refreshments. For more information,

Festival Applications
The
City of Woodstock is currently accepting applications for its Annual Fall
Festival. The Festival will be held Saturday, October 8 at City Park.

Firefighter's
Boot Drive
The Cherokee County
Fire and Emergency Services will participate in the 15th Annual "Give
Burns the Boot" drive, benefiting the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
Local firefighters will hit the streets, with boots in hand, seeking donations
beginning on Friday, September 10 through Friday, September 24.

the third Tuesday of every month, Dr. Michelle LeRoy and Dr. Patricia
Cohen will be presenting a free program open to the public on a variety
of health related topics. The first in the series is scheduled for September

Master
Gardeners Seminars
The
Cherokee County Master Gardeners will hold three seminars during the month
of September. On September 11, the topic will be "Gifts from the Garden,"
which will provide participants with ideas on putting together personal
gifts created from the garden. This seminar will be at the Canton Senior
Center. On September 18, the topic will be "Composting Made Easy" at the
Hickory Flat Library. On September 25, "Hardscape Planning Takes Stone
and Lighting" is the subject of the last seminar. It will be presented
at the Hickory Flat Library. All seminars are from 10 - 11:30 a.m.

Mammography Van
The
Wellstar Mobile Mammography van will be at the Towne Lake Medical Center
on Wednesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 15 from 9:20 a.m. -
4:20 p.m. These screenings can save time, money and lives. Most insurance
plans are accepted, but a physician's written order is required. For more

North
Metro Miracle League Registering for Fall
The
North Metro Miracle League is an adapted baseball league for mentally
and physically challenged youth. Buddies are provided for those who require
additional assistance. The six-game fall season begins Saturday, September
