American Red Cross Babysitting

The American Red Cross Babysitting course is ideal for current and future babysitters. It will teach important childcare skills such as CPR, feeding, safe play and more. The class will be held on Saturday, October 11 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The class is for ages 11 through 15 and costs $45. Each participant will receive a baby sitter's handbook and official certification. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.

Beginning Ballroom Dancing

Learn the Foxtrot, Waltz, Jitterbug, Cha-Cha and more in this introductory class. The class will be held on Mondays beginning October 4 through November 8 at 6 p.m. for beginners and 7 p.m. for intermediate. The class is for ages 11 and older and costs $45.

Fall Hay Day

The CRPA along with MUST Ministries will host the Annual Fall Day on Saturday, October 16 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The cost is one unwrapped toy per family, which will be given to MUST for the upcoming Christmas season. There will be carnival-style games, moonwalk pony and hay rides, cakewalk, food, prizes and much more. Vendors wishing to rent a booth may do so for $30.

Lil' Rookies Football

Lil' Rookies Football is a developmentally appropriate program for children ages three through six which prepares them for organized football. The instructors use Nerf equipment, and parents work one-on-one with their child. The program will be on Thursdays beginning October 7 through November 11 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $65. Pee Wee Tennis

Pee Wee Tennis is designed for ages four - eight. All equipment is age appropriate and is provided by the instructor. The class will be on Wednesdays beginning on October 20 through November 10. The times are 3 - 3:30 p.m., 3:30 - 4 p.m., 4 - 4:30 p.m. or 4:30 - 5 p.m. The cost is $25. For more information, please call Ben Brown at (770) 924-7768.

Start Smart Soccer for children ages 3 - 6 is just one of the many programs offered at the CRPA Recreation Center. The Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.

Tang Soo Do

This form of martial arts is for everyone - children, teens and adults. It teaches discipline, self-esteem and confidence. The first class is free, and as an introductory offer, sign up for two months and receive a discount and a free uniform or bring in a friend for two months and receive a discount. The class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m for ages 6 through 12 and 7:45 - 8:45 p.m. for ages 13 and older. Friday classes will be held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. for all ages. The cost is $45 per month for two days a week and $30 a month for once a week. Silver Roamers

The next meeting will be on Monday, October 4 at the Recreation Center at 11 a.m.

The Roamers will have an afternoon of culture when they visit the High Museum followed by lunch at Vickerey's. The museum has an extensive collection of Van Goghs and will include a full tour. Lunch will be before the tour. The trip will be on Wednesday, October 20 and will leave the Canton Senior Center at 9:45 a.m. and the Recreation Center at 10:15 a.m. The cost is $30 for members and $33 for non-members and includes transportation and museum admission. Bring additional money for lunch.

Join the group for a fall afternoon in the Blue Ridge Mountains. After lunch, the group will climb to the top of Georgia's highest mountain, Brasstown Bald. Participants can choose to hike or take a shuttle to the top. The adventure will be on Thursday, October 14 and the cost is $22 for members and $25 for non-members, which includes lunch, transportation and shuttle. The bus will leave the Recreation Center at 9 a.m. and the Canton Senior Center at 9:30 a.m.
