Hey Kids!
This Halloween there will be ghosts, goblins,
and super-heroes all over Towne Lake. Remember to be careful and have
a great time. Halloween should be filled with surprise and enjoyment.
If you are going out trick or treating, here are 13 easy rules that can
help keep Halloween safe and fun.
1. Walk, slither, and sneak on sidewalks,
not in the street.
2. Look both ways before crossing the
street to check for cars, trucks, and low-flying brooms.
3. Cross the street only at corners.
4. Don't hide or cross the street between
parked cars.
5. Make sure to wear light-colored or
reflective-type clothing so you are more visible. (And remember to put
reflective tape on bikes, skateboards, and brooms, too!)
6. Plan your route and share it with your
family. If possible, have a grown up go with you.
7. Carry a flashlight to light your way.
8. Keep away from open fires and candles.
(Costumes can be catch fire very easily.)
9. Trick or treat at homes that have the
porch light on.
10. Never go into a stranger's house.
11. Use face paint instead of masks or
things that will cover your eyes.
12. Be cautious of animals and strangers.
13. Have a grown-up check your treats
before eating them, and never eat candy if the package is already opened.
Small, hard pieces of candy are a choking hazard for little ones, such
as younger brothers and sisters.
