Dr.
Mike Litrel is a man of many talents. He is a successful and well-respected
obstetrician and gynecological surgeon. He graduated from the Emory University
School of Medicine and has his own practice, Cherokee Women's Health Specialists
in Canton. Those who may not know Doctor Mike surely know Writer Mike
as he's been a contributing columnist for The TowneLaker and Sixes
Living Magazine since 2000. His columns are a constant source of amusement
and inspiration, and he continues to be one of the magazines' most popular
columnists.
Dr.
Litrel recently published a collection of his stories in the book titled
The Eyes Don't See What the Mind Don't Know. The title comes from
a medical expression used to explain the unexplainable. The premise behind
the book is that health and healing is so much more than what doctors
can do with medicine and surgery. Prayer and faith play a role in everyday
medical miracles, according to Dr. Litrel. Dr. Litrel's stories are filled
with stories about faith in healing, presented in a relatable and humorous
manner.
The
book is a collection of more than 25 stories compiled from the thousands
of experiences he

in The TowneLaker and Sixes Living Magazine. The compilation
already has been nominated for the Writers Digest Book of the Year and
received critical praise at the Southeast Booksellers Association Trade
Show.
Dr.
Litrel is in the business of bringing babies into the world, which is
why all the proceeds from his book will benefit the Cherokee County Emergency
Children's Shelter.
Dr.
Litrel lives in Towne Lake with his wife Ann, an artist, and his two sons,
Tyler, age 10 and Joseph age 7.
