Gymnastics and Cheerleading

The CRPA offers several gymnastics classes for all ages.

Sibling Gymnastics: This class is offered on Mondays for ages 4 - 7 from 3 - 4 p.m. The cost is $35.

Beginning Gymnastics: This class is for ages six and older. It is held on Mondays from 4 - 5 p.m. and Fridays from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., and the cost is $35.

Beginning and Intermediate Girls: Both classes are for ages six and older. The beginning class meets on Tuesdays from 5 - 6 p.m., and the intermediate class meets on Tuesdays from 6 - 7 p.m. The cost is $35 per class.

Tumble for Cheer: The emphasis in this class will be on jumps, tumbling, movements and stunts. Ages 5 - 8 meet on Thursdays from 5 - 6 p.m., and ages 9 and older meet on Thursdays from 6 - 7 p.m. The cost is $40.

Intermediate Tumble: This class is for ages nine and older and meets on Tuesdays from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. The cost is $40.

Advanced Gymnastics: Participants of this class need to be recommended by one of the instructors. The class meets on Fridays from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. and is for ages eight and older. The cost is $40.

Cheerleading: This class teaches the fundamentals of cheerleading, including stunts, pyramids, jumps, dance moves and a cheerleading routine. The class meets on Wednesdays from 7 - 8 p.m. for ages 5 - 7 and 3rd - 6th grade, and 8 - 9 p.m. for 7th - 12th grade. The cost is $40 per month. Fencing Club

This monthly program is designed for the intermediate to advanced fencer. The class will work on continuing to perfect the students' fencing skills. It will meet on Wednesdays, monthly from 6 - 8 p.m. and is for ages 11 and older. The fee is $45.

In-line roller hockey is one of the many programs offered at the CRPA Recreation Center. The CRPA Recreation Center is located at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. For more information, call (770) 924-7768.

Silver Roamers

If you enjoy meeting people, visiting sites, and having a great time, the Silver Roamers Club is for you. They meet on monthly to discuss upcoming events. The next meeting of the Silver Roamers will be Monday, November 1 at the Recreation Center.

Get into the holiday spirit a little early by attending the Georgia Ensemble Theatre in Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol on Sunday, November 21. This is a cleaver, funny and deeply moving story. The group will stop for lunch before the show. The cost is $18 for members and $20 for non-members and includes transportation and the show. The bus will leave the Canton Senior Center at 11 a.m. and the Recreation Center at 11:30 a.m.

On Wednesday, November 10, the Roamers will visit the Jimmy Carter Library. The Library includes photographs and historical memorabilia from the Carter presidency. Also on display is the exhibit from the U.S. Diplomacy Center, After 9/11: Messages from the World and Images of Ground Zero. The group will head to the Varsity for lunch afterwards. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members and includes transportation and admission. The bus will leave from the Recreation Center at 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. from the Canton Senior Center.

What could be more beautiful than Christmas in the Smokey Mountains? Join the group as they head to Pigeon Forge, TN on Tuesday, November 30 - Thursday December 2. The trip will include a visit to Dollywood for the Smokey Mountain Christmas Festival, a stop at the Pigeon Forge Outlet Mall, plus much more. The cost is $310 for members and $330 for non-members for a single room and $260 for members and $280 for non-members in a double room. The cost includes two nights accommodations, continental breakfasts, one lunch, dinner and show at the Black Bear Jamboree, admission to Dollywood, dinner at Dollywood, transportation and baggage handling.
