Hey Kids!

What do you know about the history of Thanksgiving? You probably have heard a lot about the Pilgrims and how they lived and celebrated, but sometimes myths get mixed in with the facts. Let's take a look at some Pilgrim facts and fiction.

The Pilgrims held the first Thanksgiving in 1621 to celebrate their fall harvest. A lot of people think the Pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving every year, but they didn't. It was an occasional celebration and was not celebrated every year until 1863. The Pilgrims arrived in America in 1620, after sailing all the way from Plymouth, England. The trip took 65 days!

What else do you think you know about the Pilgrims? Take the quiz below to find out and E-mail your answers to donald@townelaker.com or drop them off
