Booth Recycling Bin
E.T.
Booth Middle School has a newspaper-recycling bin set up in the east end
of the parking lot in front of the school. Proceeds will benefit the Cherokee
County Humane Society (CCHS). The student body chose to help the environment
while supporting the CCHS in this community outreach project.
Food
Allergy Meeting for Parents
There
will be a meeting of parents whose children have food allergies. This
meeting is an opportunity to share, learn and be with other parents who
understand what it's like to have a child with food allergies. The meeting
will be held on January 11 at 7 p.m. at the Rose Creek Library. For more

Yoga
Mind,
Body and Spirit Yoga Studio is offering free yoga every Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Fur
Ball 2005
The
second Annual Fur Ball is scheduled to be held in June, and volunteers
are needed now for the planning committee. Art and gifts for the silent
auction, catering, wine donations and business sponsors also are needed.
The Fur Ball is a charity, black-tie event which will benefit the Cherokee
County Humane Society, the Cherokee County Animal Shelter and other animal

The
HOPE Center
The
Helpful Options and Pregnancy Education (HOPE) Center is a non-profit
organization designed to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
of women who may be facing an untimely or unplanned pregnancy. The Center
offers a variety of services, including free pregnancy tests, educational
materials, mentoring and long-term support, community referrals and more.
A variety of volunteer opportunities are available, ranging from a few
hours a week to monthly ongoing needs. For more information on the HOPE

Papa's
Pantry
Papa's
Pantry is partnered with area churches and other non-profits and provides
food assistance to the families in our community. The Pantry recently
has opened an additional location at 351 West Main Street in Canton. Lynne
Saunders, operator of Papa's Pantry, is excited about the additional location
and additional space, which was greatly needed. The Pantry is in need
of breakfast and lunch items, specifically dry cereal, peanut butter,
jelly, canned meats and boxed dinners.

also need laundry detergent and toilet paper. Financial donations or non-perishable
food items also are needed. A donation barrel is located in the lobby
of The TowneLaker office at 1025 Rose Creek Drive, Suite 340. Volunteer

Principles
of Pruning

Master Gardeners will present "Principles of Pruning" on Saturday, February
26 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the Hickory Flat Library. They'll take the
mystery out of when and how to prune shrubs and trees. Seating is limited

Garden Workshop
The
Clean Water Campaign has partnered with local governments and the University
of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service to present a workshop on constructing
a rain garden. This free "how to" workshop will be held on January 31
at 6:30 p.m. at the Rose Creek Library. There is no charge for the workshop,

Towne
Lake Arts Center
Holding Auditions
The
Towne Lake Arts Center will hold auditions for Seussical on January
11 - 12 from 7 - 9:30 p.m. for ages 13 - adult. A role, which particularly
needs to be filled, is for a 10 - 12 year-old boy with a strong, unchanged
singing voice. Auditions will include cold readings from the script as
well as singing.
Wonderful
World of Roses
The
