Blood Drive

Children's Consignment Sale

The Hillside United Methodist Church Mission Trippers will hold a children's consignment sale on March 4 and 5. All things children will be sold. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, March 4 and 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. Sellers and workers will enjoy preview sales. Homeschool Program

The Chattahoochee Nature Center is offering a homeschool program for students ages 7 - 11 on Thursday, February 10 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. The program is titled Georgia's Sea Turtles: How Will These Ancient Species Survive? Beginning March 1, the programs are repeated each Tuesday and Thursday. The cost is $10 per student and $6 per adult. Gallery Art Show

The Framery in Marietta will host renowned artist Patricia Buckley Moss on Saturday, February 19. Ms. Moss is known for her paintings portraying the Amish and tranquil landscapes and has achieved great success with her art. In return, donations of her artwork have raised significant funds for worthy charitable organizations. She established the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education, which promotes the use of art in school to help reach out to children with learning difficulties. Life Screening

On Saturday, February 19, 2005 Life Screening and Hillside United Methodist Church will offer area residents three primary health screenings to detect the risk for stroke and cardiovascular disease. The tests include a Carotid Artery Screening, an Abdominal Aortic Aneurism test and an Ankle Brachial Index test. The tests are painless and low cost, $35 - $45. Kidsignments

One of the largest children's consignment events, Kidsignments, will take place from February 23 - February 26 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. The sale includes quality, gently used infant, childrens, junior and maternity clothing, toys, baby equipment, furniture, outdoor toys and more. The sale will

Kindermusik

The Cherokee County Recreation Center (CRPA) in conjunction with Amy's Musik will offer Kindermusik classes to area children ages 0 - 7. Sweetheart Dance

The Ravens Elite Junior Allstars are sponsoring a dance on Friday, February 4 at the CRPA. The dance is for grades 5 - 8 from 7 - 10 p.m., and the cost is $5 at the door. Town Hall Meetings

State Senator Chip Rogers will hold monthly town hall meetings in order to receive input from citizens. The meetings will be held on the second Saturday of the month. In the Towne Lake area, the meetings will be held at Rose Creek Library from 9 - 10:30 a.m. and at the Woodstock Library from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Wild Kids Consignment Sale

The Wild Kids Consignment Sale at Marietta Church of God will be held on March 25 and 26. The organizers accept previously tagged items from other sales. Workers get to join in the half price preview sale on Friday, March 25. The sale accepts boys' sizes 0 - 20 and girls' sizes 0 - juniors. They also will accept maternity clothing, baby equipment, books, toys, shoes, E-rated video games and more! Winter Break Camp

The CRPA is offering a brand new camp during the school district's winter break, February 21 - 25. The camp is called Non-Stop Action Camp and is offered for children ages 6 - 12. Campers will enjoy a daily field trip including skating, bowling, World of Coke and more! The cost is $115 per child. Wonderful World of Roses

The Cherokee County Master Gardeners will present The Wonderful World of Roses seminar held on Saturday, February 19 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. The seminar will be held at the Hickory Flat Library on East Cherokee Drive. The Master Gardeners also will hold a Principles of Pruning seminar on Saturday, February 26 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Seating is limited for both seminars so reservations are recommended.
