Eagle Watch Family Grateful

Slifcak_jpg

Nicole Slifcak

On the morning of February 5, the Slifcak family got a visit that every parent dreads. A sheriff's officer knocked on their door to deliver the bad news - their 18-year-old daughter Nicole had been in a serious two-car accident. She sustained an acquired brain injury (ABT) and required surgery to repair her jaw, which was broken in two places. According to her mom, Ginny, her prognosis is extremely good, and while she will have to endure some physical and possibly occupational therapy, she will more than likely make a full recovery. The Slifcaks live in Eagle Watch and, Nicole is a senior at Etowah High School. She has plans on attending the Georgia College and State University on a Presidential Scholarship.

Ginny and her husband Mike wish to thank the community for the outpouring of support and prayer. "The amount of cards, support and prayers we have received has been overwhelming," said Ginny. "I can't say 'thank you' enough to the entire community of Towne Lake," she continued.

The TowneLaker wishes a speedy and full recovery to Nicole, and we hope to see her playing soccer again soon!
