for a premier showing of Towne Lake resident Rita Chakravorty's Creative
Interpretations of Georgia. This event will be held on Friday, March

BalletFest
Atlanta
The
second Annual BalletFest Atlanta will be held on Saturday, March 12 and
Sunday March 13 at the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center Theatre at Southern
Polytechnic State University in Marietta. The BalletFest will gather companies
in a non-competitive atmosphere to participate in master classes. Classes
are for students ages 10 and older. The festival will include two command
performances on Saturday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 13 at
2 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for students and children. For

Spring Splash
Bascomb Elementary
School will hold its Annual Spring Splash on March 5 from 10 a.m. - 3
p.m. This event is the school's largest PTA fundraiser. The day will include
vendor booths, games, food, silent auction and more. Bascomb is located

Wildwood
Baptist Church on Wade Green Road will hold a children's consignment sale
on Friday, March 11 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 from 9
a.m. - 12 noon. Many items will be half price on Saturday. Only backpacks

Consignment Sale on Friday, March 4 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday,

Food Drive
Curves
fitness center is holding a food drive during the month of March. All
the food collected will go to MUST Ministries of Cherokee County. During
the week of March 7 - 12, anyone who brings in a bag of non-perishable
food items will have their service fee waived. Curves is located at 2485
Towne Lake Parkway.
Georgia
Canines For Independence
The Georgia Canines
for Independence is a non-profit organization which trains service dogs
for children and adults with physical disabilities. The organization meets
on the first Monday of each month at 6683 Bells Ferry Road, Suite H in

Hillside
United Methodist Church will host its Annual Couples Dinner on Friday,
March 18 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. S. Truett Cathy, founder of Chick Fil-A
will be the guest speaker. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the WinShape

Jazz
on Tap
The
18th Annual Jazz on Tap, hosted by DanceFest Inc. and Dancentre South
Company, will be held Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, March 6 at
7:30 p.m. Both events will be held at the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center
Theatre at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. This year's
performance will showcase performances from more than 40 companies throughout
metro Atlanta and the United States. A dance workshop also will be presented
both days. Tickets are $8 for students and children and $13 for adults.

Gardener Workshops
The
Cherokee County Master Gardeners will sponsor several landscape design
workshops. They will be held on March 17, 22, 24 and 29 at the Cherokee
County Senior Center, 1001 Univeter Road in Canton from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
The cost is $35 per couple, and materials are provided. The Master Gardeners
also will present "Container Gardening" on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m. Participants are requested to bring a pot and plant or two
to learn techniques. Registration for both events is requested due to

Women's Conference
The
5th Annual Phenomenal Women's Conference will be held on Wednesday, March
16 from 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The seminar is sponsored by Kennesaw State
University's RTM Institute for Leadership, Ethics, and Character and the
CAREing Center. Speakers will include Phyllis Sammons, National Sales
Director for Mary Kay cosmetics, and author Dr. Karen Reivich. The cost

Hospital - Cherokee WomenFirst offers wellness classes about information
every woman should know. This month's class is "Doctor, Could It Be My
Thyroid?" An endocrinologist will discuss how thyroid disease can affect
change in many body systems including energy level, weight and depression.
