Etowah
Girls Take State!
For
the first time in Etowah High School's history, the Varsity Lady Eagles
captured the coveted State basketball title against Westside-Macon in
a 61 - 47 victory. Scoring was led by Nicole Frechette with 16 points,
followed by Lisa Gaunder with 13, Tiauna Brantley with 9, Lindsey Mason
with 8, Tagan Hatchett with 8, Alicia Manning with 5 and Kristie Spivey
with 2. The team was coached by Bob Westbrook, Rob Graner and Jim Spivey.
The team received a school-wide send off, and when they returned, each
team member took a turn at cutting down the basketball net in the Etowah
gym - a championship tradition. The champion Eagles are comprised of Emily
McNeill, Tagan Hatchett, Lisa Gaunder, McKenzie Stiles, Alica Manning,
Julie Witt, Sarah Schuenemeyer, Lindsey Mason, Tiauna Brantley, Nicole
Frechette, Kayla Rollins, Kristie Spivey and Jade Mauldin. We're all proud
of you! Photos courtesy of Louise Graner.
